Guild Wars 2

I am not a fan of changing the main menu theme whenever a new expansion is released for a MMO. I know its considered traditional, but I really love the original GW2 theme whenever I log in and select my character. I actually look forward to hearing it.

I’m able to access the BWE and when the event started the main menu music was switched. I would like to switch it back.

Anet; can we please have this option? The original theme is one of the best I have heard.

It’s easy. Open up your documents folder\Guild Wars 2, and create a new folder called “Music”. You can create an m3u playlist titled MainMenu.m3u containing the original menu music and put it in there.

Personally, I’ve got it set to play the original menu playlist, followed by the music that played on the original GW1 Prophecies main menu, with a few other tracks mixed in here and there as well. You can even make the game play the Maklain the Minstrel version of the main theme. That’s what I’ve got as the final track in my playlist.

Better yet IMO, let the game randomly switch between the original and the new one. I really like the new one but it’s certainly not as iconic as the old one!
