Can you get in trouble for bugged events?
I would think no…but who knows.
Remember the snowflakes! You never know until you are banned.
There is another event the somethingflayer event that can go on for near forever because no one lets her die to complete the even. You can farm mobs for hours if there are enough ppl there.

I don’t think it’s on par with godskull/snowflake exploits simply because those two had massive ramifications on the economy.
This bug doesn’t. Yeah, constant mobs are not good but people still get hit by DR. And if you have too many people farming it, mobs don’t spawn at all cause they die too quickly, meaning no loot. Not to mention only few servers are getting hit by it.

What’s this snowflakes thing? I’ve been gone from the game for a while so I’ve missed a lot.
I just need all the help I can get farming T6 mats for my legendary and this would be an opportunity to get a huge amount of Heavy Moldy Bags. I just don’t want to you know, get banned and have it all be lost if I decide to farm this event for an extended period of time.

The snowflake exploit rewarded more globs with each step. So you could generate an endless supply of ectos. That destroy the economy.
I don’t see how this bugged event can approach anything close to that.

Unless your and ele it seems you wont get any loot any way. Did the daily ported over to Orr the event was bugged a group of eles doing a lap, run to point A: drop 5 aoes mobs spawn, melt, eles run to next spawn point repeat. no idea how long its been bugged but they had the timing down so well it wasnt worth even trying.
Yes because you are exploiting a bug .
What server? Ive done this bugged event its AWESOME
Sometimes the penitent/shelter event chains get bugged and there is a stuck “fort progress” event that constantly spawns wave of enemies. Is taking advantage of this something you can get in trouble for?
Key phrase there: is taking advantage of this
If you are using those words, there is already doubt about whether it’s ok, yes?
It’s a bug. Report it. Test it once. Maybe twice. More than that, if it’s obvious that the bug exists.. well, you said yourself: “taking advantage”. That’s a no-no.
IMO they cant blame you for their buggeed coding. What are you supposed to do just not go to to that map zone because they cant program?
I wouldnt farm the event for hours and wouldnt go out of my way to go there but if i happened across it i would probably put some time in on it.
If you didn’t purposely knowing fully bugged it..
IMO they cant blame you for their buggeed coding.
no but they clearly know its bugged and would be exploiting the bug and THAT is what is bannable
Let’s be realistic
There are tons of bugs that are exploited by players. Go show me a player who has never used the fractal exploit for the giant fractal or even the dredge one.
But they don’t ban those people because it doesn’t materially impact the game.

If they clearly know its bugged its on them to fix it not on us to avoid it.

That’s not the view ANet takes on it, and the people who were banned for using the Snowflake exploit is clear evidence of that.
I personally don’t think that farming endless mobs from a bugged event would raise red flags because you still have no control over the drops. You could wind getting awesome loot or nothing, but that’s no different from farming anywhere else in the game.
Don’t be a screaming moron.
If you can gain advantage from something and wonder if you ought to, probably a good idea to report it and see.
Sure you can take a crack, risk a ban, risk having to sook about being banned, all for the opportunity to gain an (unfair possibly) advantage.
Does this seem too good to be intended? Don’t do it – it is exploiting.
It may just be that your original statement was wrong.
Please try again.

Never ending spawn farming is pretty low risk.
Snowflakes were an obvious exploit and support-staff shopping for the one idiot who OK’d it was a sad attempt to justify the exploit.
It may just be that your original statement was wrong.

You seem to have contradicted yourself in consecutive posts.
Not contradicted.
I said don’t do something, AND I evaluated the risk of doing it.
It is possible to both evaluate AND condem the same action.
It may just be that your original statement was wrong.

Well, no one I know has been banned for exploiting a broken event. :p
Yet…
But that is a chance we can all choose to make, does not alter the fact that it is obviously a risk of some degree.
It may just be that your original statement was wrong.

I need a GM’s answer for this.
I farmed this about 2 day ago and I really don’t know how about ban for this.
i would defend myself by saying ‘’i thought the event was mean to spawn lot of mobs’’ so dont worry tbh.
i would defend myself by saying ‘’i thought the event was mean to spawn lot of mobs’’ so dont worry tbh.
exactly.
That and the fact that these events usualy last 10 min or so, so if you just happened by and started joining in you wouldnt even notice something up probably till about 20 min into it.
So tons of people are going to be farming this bugged event with no ill intentions untill they find out its bugged which will take a while.

Id tell them I thought the builders were taking a break and having a union meeting whilst I farmed thousands of heavy moldy bags everyday for a week.
There’s only one thing you need to keep in mind when playing GW2. If it makes you gold, it’s bannable.
