right now its not a lot of players in GW1.

I would like some of those skins still, but hard to get now. I never really played GW1 as a PvE game. I just did PvP there so never had a real chance at getting those HoM rewards.

The HoM was designed to reward players for time spent playing GW1. Greatly reducing the difficutly of the achievements needed to get HoM points only cheapens the reward.

Would be a big “kitten you” to the most veteran and loyal players, so unlikely to happen.

Also a bad idea for the same reason.

They’re only hard to get if you don’t play the game to get them.

We worked our kitten off for this. And after they announced GW2 they started making GWAMM even easier to get. Doing what you suggest basically invalidates the effort made by veterans.

The very fact that, as OP said, there aren’t many Guild Wars 1 players means there is no reason for ANet to make filling the HoM easier. Why do should they do work that benefits so few?

All their attention is on this game. That game doesn’t even really have a support system anymore. It’s running, but it’s pretty much on autopilot at this time. They aren’t going to invest the time and money to revamp something they’ve abandoned.

like I said in the OP. I played GW1, have 3 of the 4 GW1 downloads.

I played PvP not PvE.

Why wasnt my time playing PvP equally rewarded in HoM?

I got all (measly) 35 of my HoM alone with just Heroes. Maybe, at most, had 1 other person help with no more than 2 missions.

When GW introduced Heroes, long, long ago, it pretty much made partying up obsolete, even back then. I’m sure you can do it, if I did. I never even changed the Heroes’ builds. Lol.

Of course, time helps with Mini-pets from Birthday Gifts. But, you probably made those points up with PvP points; a place I never ever stepped foot in. Ever.

Thus, no need to make it ‘easier’; that happened when Heroes were introduced, essentially making other players completely unnecessary.

Get your heroes set up, look into getting mercenaries (from their “gem” store, it allows you to use your own level 20 characters. You can gear them up and set up their skill bars, just like the heroes, it allows you to have exactly the hero combination you want if you have a number of level 20s. For example I routinely had 4 Necromancer/Ritualist) I did do the HoM with one other person but we both used all my mercenaries/heroes as I had them fully set up.

Ask in map chat, surely there are still guilds doing the HoM or individual people who want to do individual missions or even to team up with someone to do it all.

It’s already easy to get the 30/50 with a decent hero setup (which is everything except titles). C space your way through the PvE content and most importantly, get read up on the missions before doing them so you know what you’re up against. Find a guild with people still in it if you need help with things.

Also make sure to check out the actual gw1 forums if you need a hand. You won’t find much help for gw1 in a gw2 forum.

It’s easy enough as it is. Please don’t ask Anet to give you something for nothing.

• If you mostly PvP, you can convert your rewards into plat and plat can buy just about anything you need for the PvE-only rewards.
• Tons of players in GW2 that have GW1 accounts have minis they can’t use (in GW1). They are often more than happy to help people out.
• As many have stated, a lot of people earned their 30/50 with heroes alone (and there are guides on the wiki to acquiring heroes quickly, too).

tl;dr it’s already “easy” to get 30/50; you just have to be willing to invest the time.

I given most of my minis away already but I’ve had a couple of birthdays since then. If you could use them for your HoM, let me know and we can meet in Guild Wars 1.

HoM is good the way it is. Let’s not trivialise achievements even more.

Basically, this. Getting points above 30 might be harder, but the first 30 require just some time and effort. No other players necessary.
TBH in many places getting heroes over human players is even preferable.

if there are only few GW1 players than i use GW1 title for being Rare.

As GW1 pvp player it was very hard to get 50 points.. ( i end up @ 48/50 )
And if u only want the Skins ?! Take them.. most gw1 ppl wanted the titel like " legend of mists " or " ghostly Hero " NOT the skins : )))))

With a friend to run some of the more challenging bonuses with (Eternal Grove, Dunes of Despair, Moddok Crevice, Gates of Madness), and a little bit of mats and minis from another old friend, it took me just under 300 hours to get 30 points. Without monetary assistance, 350-500 hours will be needed. That is, IMO, a perfectly amount of time for that much “prestige”.

Getting more than that will take a lot more time and effort, for things like Vanquisher, Cartographer, and Master of the North. Flameseeker (40) is one of the best titles.

The HoM was there to reward those who put in a lot of time and effort into GW1, so it should remain no easier than it got at GW2 release. If you want the rewards, put in the time, and try to enjoy the way.

NO , i played GW1 for 7 years. i earned the skins. Do the same .. if there is no real players to help you the entire game is perfectly viable and easy with the right heroes combination. ( Google GW1 Sabway )

OP, they already made HoM easier.
You used to only have up to 3 heroes in your party, now you can have a full party.
The survival tittle required you to not die even once, if you died you had to delete the character and start again, now it just count the exp from your last death.
Defender of Ascalon tittle used to be mutually exclusive with survival because you had to use a “glitch” to reach lvl 20 in pre-searing now they added daily quests.
Some festivals like the “Canthan new year” gives a guaranteed celestial mini, it used to be quite rare to get one.
Those are the ones I can remember from the top of my head.
I reached 30/50 HoM points starting from a new account and w/o any help from other players, I just started to get some help to reach 45/50, and that before some of the above updates.

No. We all earned the rewards, and you can too if you want to put the effort in.

It’s also possible to get the Survivor title easier by using the storybooks. You get the books, such as the Flameseeker Prophesies, for the missions from the NPCs. You can run the missions repeatedly, each time you do one it fills up one page of the book. Fill up a bunch of books, turn them in for the XP and platinum. You can save them up to get the last amount of XP needed and if you turn in enough books at once you’ll get enough XP to get the title just from the books.

I am reaching GWAMM, and 50/50 in 2 weeks from now probably. I’ve been playing for 8 months so far.

Not even that hard, you want it, earn it. Its a fun game to explore.

To the OP, they already made it easier over the years. They made it so much easier in fact, it cut a LOT of time off on it already. You used to have to wait for drunk minutes. You couldn’t just double-click the alcohol. There were no 50-point alcohol consumables either. You had to spend 10K minutes in game drunk. To maximize it they had to be as consecutive as possible because you couldn’t just click 1 bottle to get drunk. You needed a few minutes of alcohol to get drunk and then you wanted to stay drunk. If you sobered up it meant consuming a little more alcohol to get drunk again.

There weren’t any 50-point sweets either.

Survivor meant if that character died, you had to start over with a new character.

We only had 3 heroes. I had to use henchmen for hard-mode map clears if friends weren’t around.

GW1 is in maintenance mode and making it easier for people who never cared….actually, it’s just a game, what do I care? ArenaNet should start selling Achievement points in the Gem Shop.

Agree with the posters here. If you want the skins…it is easily possible to earn them with heroes/hench in GW1. I currently have 45 HoM points that I earned with h/h. The only reason I don’t have GWAMM is mostly because I’m too lazy to grind the last 5 points. I have all unlocked except for the GWAMM title…all the skins, etc. Making the titles easier to get spits in the face of all of us who played and earned what points we have. Besides…personally, I like Legend of the Mists title more than GWAMM anyways.

How about no? They are veteran rewards so spend veteran effort if you want them

i played gw1 from release up until about 5 months after eotn release. just 90% of it was pvp, gvg/HA players got pretty shafted

I got to 30 purely solo. It’s not difficult.

The HoM rewards in GW2 are A-net’s way of rewarding and thanking loyal, dedicated players.

Making them easier to obtain now wouldn’t make sense. It’d be giving this reward to people who weren’t dedicated to the original game and would be a kick to the teeth to the loyal players who obtained them in the first place.

I also don’t understand how they could be obtained more easily. The rewards are linked to HoM points, which in turn are linked to particular titles and items in-game. Making the items and titles easier to obtain would require a huge amount of work and balancing. This wouldn’t be in A-net’s best interest because it would mean spending resources on a game that they don’t intend to upgrade.

Also, when it comes down to it… sure, they are a symbol of dedication, but the skins are just skins. I’m sure you can survive without them, they do not give any real benefit. I worked hard for a few months to get them, and they are nice to have as an option (especially for lowbies as they require no T-charge), but they’re not particularly special-looking.

Edit: One could argue that your request would be similar to giving all achievement-point based skins to every player, because some people will simply never be able to obtain them all for their own personal reasons.

They have made it easier overtime such as drunkard being spammable. Can’t remember atm what else they changed. Making it easier just so you specifically can get it will devalue the skins not like it’s difficult to get.

Another thing they made easier was getting one Tormented Weapon. These are very expensive but they added a quest line, Wayfarer’s Reverie, for people who need one for their HoM. Completing the quest line gives your account a one time chance to get an account bound Tormented Weapon.

I decdicated so much time to playing GW1 to get GWAMM. The title resembles dedication to the game over the years, not some free gimme gimme title, like the majority of the titles in GW2. It’d be a slap in the face to all the GW1 players to “make HoM easier to get.” If you want to get the title, sit down and prepare to grind the titles out instead of PvFing when you should be PvEing.
