Was just wondering, when i finaly get my FOTM ascended backpiece, will i be able to trasmute the look of it? I wanna put that karka thing

Sure, why wouldn’t you be able to do that? You’ll need the L80 transmute item (forgot the new name, was used to be called Fine Transmutation Stone but someone decided it had to be renamed for some reason). Pick the icon of the Sclerite Karka Shell and the stats of the fractal back. You’ll end up with an item with the looks and name of the karka back and the stats of the fractal back.

Will it remain ascended? Will it have ping letters?

I made an ascended back item then transmuted the Guild Backpack skin over it. The pink letters and stats both remained

Yes. You are able to transmute ascended items and retain the skins of other back pack items.

But be sure to infuse your ascended back piece first before transmuting.

How come? It shouldnt make a diff surely? I think i infused mine after transmuting
