Guild Wars 2

Just a quick question. I was out at the Barrier Camp Waypoint and noticed a lot of people running in a circle killing Candy Corn Elementals as soon as they popped up. I was a little surprised to see Halloween creatures in May. Is this part of a holiday (Memorial Day) thing or is this something that normally happens? I don’t go out to that area very often, so as far as I know it happens every day.

It’s part of a farm called Maize Balm farming (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Throw_Maize_Balm). Players throw the balm at ambient creatures (rats, rabbits, birds, etc.) and kill the Candy corn it creates, which drop Trick or Treat bags from Halloween, which in turn drop various items (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Trick-or-Treat_Bag).

Honestly I have no clue. I smell something fishy going on in the background. Maybe rival farming guilds or something?
