Candy Corn Gobbler
If memory serves me correctly, they nerfed a lot of it’s usefulness because some thought it was a pay 2 win sort of thing especially concerning WXP. Perhaps they didn’t bring it back intentionally?

Because buying boosters, guild buffs, food, etc. doesn’t exists without it? With my tin foil hat on and crystal ball in front of me I see the answer it’s…… “buy gems with money”. That’s always the answer when they play with items and the general economy. Even though the Gobbler cost gems, it’s nothing compared to what they hope you’ll spend year round on boosters.

Pretty sure they only nerfed the amount of time that you can stack to your boosts at one time, which honestly doesn’t bother me. You can just re-apply it when it wears off.
I know this isn’t the most important thing at the moment, but I think I’ll give it one more bump and be done with it.
If it helps any, the games economist has set the global candy corn supply on a steep path toward depletion. If it was an upper management decision, who knows. All I can say with any certainty is that unless things are changed, the Candy Corn supply will run dry in the not too distant future. So Gobbler availability in the gem store or not, it will be prohibitively expensive to use anyway. If the poster earlier thought the item was Pay 2 Win before, imagine what it shall become when it’s priced for only the wealthiest of players to use.
If you ask why I think this, it’s because of the removal of Maize balm functionality and outright removal from the Trick or Treat bag loot table. Couple that with the 250% reduction in Candy Corn from Trick or Treat bags and the Candy Corn supply is no where near sustainable. In spite of the Halloween content, in just the few days since there’s already been a 50% reduction in sell orders.
How destroying such a useful and stable market was thought of as “good” for the game, I’ll never understand.
I bought mine when candy corn was in the area of 12 copper a piece. I used it for a year and at that time you could max out 7 days of WXP boosts rather cheaply and easily. Now, however the price is almost 4 times that per candy corn and it requires APX 8 full stacks to max out a day of XP buffs.
Mine is currently sitting on one of my bank alts due to the fact that paying 8 gold for a full day of 50% buffs is just to steep; and this is during Halloween. I got my use out of it, but it is a totally useless item to me now TBH.
due to the fact that paying 8 gold for a full day of 50% buffs is just to steep
Which I completely agree with. Though someone in Anet marketing or upper management thinks it should cost either 235 gold or $15.75 US for a full day. Which is what the prices are if one bought the boosters from the gem store. Which was always a ridiculous price.
