Guild Wars 2

So, I’ve been curious since I’ve read the books. Whatever happened to Cantha and Elona when the dragon woke and spread destruction over all of Tyria. I know the two lands weren’t connected to Tyria, and that a boat had to be taken to travel to and fro, but in the books it never stated what happened to those continents, and I’ve not really seen anything in the story thus far about it in GW2.

I really loved the different aspects of those other two continents, so I have to wonder, will those appear later on in the years to come? Or am I just not finding the lore in the game?

I can only answer for Elona. The “continent” is blocked from reaching Tyria due to the forces of Zhaitan and the forces of Palawa Joko fighting for control of Elona. Palawa Joko is an undead as well, but his forces are not under Zhaitan’s control.

Elona and Tyria are like Europe and Asia. They’re both on the same meta-continent (see attachment). Cantha is the continent that is in the far south of the map.

Maybe after we defeat Zhaitan, then we can go to battle against Palawa Joko’s forces in order to “free” Elona. That could make for an interesting expansion story.

Yeah, ArenaNet really left a a lot open for future content. There are four Elder Dragons left after Zhaitan. There are a lot of areas marked on the map that are inaccessible right now. I’m dying to see what’s happened to Cantha and Elona. What Seth said about a campaign to free Elona from Palawa Joko is definitely something that could happen, probably involving Kralkatorrik as well.

Isn’t speculation fun? Adventure!

God yes an Elona expansion would be awesome. I loved Nightfall and I do really want to see what’s changed and run around the continent again. Oh and saving the Sunspears would be quite fun.

I will not be surprised at all if we revisit Elona, and Cantha again. I really want to see the Ring of Fire and the Crystal Desert again…. and maybe throw a Fissure of Woe in there too?

Thanks for all the information guys. Yeah, I have all the original GW expansions, and I loved the stories and history to each one, so it will be really interesting to see what the developers give us in the future. Speculation IS FUN! lol.. I know I would definitely like to revisit those areas as well.
