Canthan New Year
Seeing as it was only celebrated in Cantha and well, Cantha is lost somewhere, I guess not
I’m sure there are Cantha folks living in the areas that are not lost and they will surely want to celebrate. My warrior is of Canthan descent!

several npc’s in divinity reach say they are canthan, and in the lost sister human story you are even asked if your background is canthan. (I think mostly so your sister sort of looks like you though) … be nice to at least get a nod to the event in that city.
The big content patch is on the 28th. If they were intending to do something for CNY it would have been included or they’d have to patch again in a week. I doubt anything is happening in GW2 but that’s fine, I’ll be in GW1 for the weekend.
This would have been a good opportunity to integrate personal story choices into something more than just a minor triviality that you mention once and then forget about. Characters who said they were of Canthan descent could have had a minor event or NPC in their home instance who acknowledges their heritage, or maybe those characters get a small gift in the mail. Nothing major, just a little reminder to say: “Hey, remember that thing you said you were? You’re still that, and the game didn’t forget about you!” It’s cool that you get to make some decisions in your personal story, but it’s also kind of a bummer than when the story’s over they don’t count for anything.
The Dragon Festival event will start as usual in the Shing Jea monastery. The Ministry of Public Events announced, that an extra care is being made so that Canthan citizens will be able to enjoy the festivities without any interference from outside parties.

I’d love to see the Canthans in Tyria celebrating. Not dress the town in decorations, but setting off the occasional firework when you’re near, and a dragon mask on their door or something would be wonderfully awesome.

I personally would love to see canthan new year as event in divinies reach, so the main town of the humans, where basically most of all the canthans live, which are in the continent of Tyria, besides lions arch… but LA got in the last months way too much attention..I think its now once time for DR to get some attention
With the update coming soo, there will be some event starting…Flame and Frost – Prelude.
anet said in its blog already, that it will start some bigger event chain, that will go over the next months. I think, it will be a larger scaled 3 part event over the next 3 months, as Anet wants to change the game over the next 3 months alot.
When I look at the picture from the upcoming event, it looks to me like some kind of crusade or a larger scaled wandering of many people from A to B, just like, as if they are to go from 1 continent to an other. Maybe this event chain is a preparation to something way bigger to be announced at the end of it in 3 months, who knows, am just speculating only about that picture…
