RNG is RNG. Some people can flip a coin 30 times and get heads each time. It’s not likely at all, but it’s possible. Some people get to be at the bottom of the bell curve. Next run, their odds are just the same as yours, but it still sucks.

People on this forum have reported getting their first box on their 55th try or so. I call not-BS.
Some folks get the raw end of RNG. I have a friend who runs fractals regularly and has yet to get a spoon while the others of us who run them sporadically have gotten multiples. It’s become a running joke to link our spoons to her when they drop. It’s her only remaining spoon for the collection, too.
Anyway OP, just keep trying. You should get your second box some time.

Theres is. Ive done it maybe 40 times and gotten the guaranteed one from the first VW, didnt see a coat box for the next 22 times. got one, and then got one on the 30th try. Now i have one or two in my inventory that i wish i could give to players who need them.
The pvp community reminds me of what Obi-kittenenobi describes Mos Eisley as from star wars.

I think i got a coat box from a random bandit chest on a chest farm
might have been a leg-box though (i only remember getting three shoe boxes, and one or two others )

Not everyone is as blessed as you are. No one can control RNG loot distribution.
In my first 50 runs, I had only found the guaranteed box from the first run. Some people, like OP, are simply unlucky…….
I made a similar thread a week ago asking to be able to buy the box, and some arrogant jerk posted a picture of his 44 boxes, and told me I was “not trying hard enough”. It is not like I have any control over how many boxes I get. I do the same amount of work as the other guy and I get less loot? Why is it like that? I just want my 3 boxes so that I can be done with grinding this event over-and-over again…
I had similar problems with the Lost Bandit Chests. I used a whole bunch of keys, and did not find a single glove box or boot box. So instead, I worked hard, saved up my crests, and bought the boxes from the vendor. It was much more satisfying that way because I was at least guaranteed to get what I wanted. I would like to see the coat boxes available for purchase from a vendor so that I can bypass all this RNG nonsense.

I refuse to believe that “after 50 runs” you’ve only gotten the guaranteed coat box drop because the drop rate is extremely high- RNG or not. If you flip a coin 50 times, you’re not going to get heads 50 times.

While I don’t disagree with your assessment of the above claims, I seriously doubt the drop rate is 50%…..(per your analogy). closer to roll a 20 sided die 50 times and never get a 20 (that IS quite possible).

Of course we are estimating, we dont write down the bloody number of times weve done vinewrath. And you can refuse to believe that all you want. Just like my guild mates refuse to believe that i have yet to get a Siege commander spoon despite WvWing for a week and half. It doesnt mean its not right.
And this thread, its full of people on both sides, those who have done dozens of runs and not gotten one, and those who seem to get one per run. Just because you got yours does not mean that others will get theres.
Heres another for you, i do Vinewrath with my mom every single time. I have gotten 10 coat boxes, out of 40+ runs now. She has gotten 2. 2 boxes out of the same amount of runs, if not more. She has yet to get a glove or boot box despite farming chests bandit chests more than i do. Meanwhile i opened 10 bandit chests the other day and got 1 boot and 1 glove box. Yea RNG is nice isnt it. Congrats on getting your boxes, Ill stay in my corner of wishing i could give them to other players so that they can get their achievements, because i dont need them anymore.

Okay smart guy you want exact numbers I kept count of mine I got my 1st non guaranteed box on my 3rd VW then it took 32 more to received my second. The next one I didn’t receive one but the two subsequent VW’s i did i stopped counting after this. Also it is certainly possible flip a coin 50 times and not get tails, it’s unlikely but when dealing with larger numbers of people flipping 50 coins each you introducing more chances of the unlikely happening. I should also point out that the drop rate for coat boxes is closer to 20% than 50%. On the topic of people using numbers that are multiples of 10, the human brain deals with those type of numbers easier so when someone estimates 50 in this situation it’s irrelevant weather it really was 50 or 49 or 51 it gives a close approximation. Also what you “believe” is irrelevant in math, to prove your assertions you need data.

At the moment, Carapace Coats can only be found by successfully completing all 3 waves of the Vinewrath event located along the western edge of The Silverwastes.
However, people are asking for it to be purchasable from a vendor.

Maybe you should familiarize yourself with the basics of probability calculation / statistics than you can see: it has nothing to do with believing or not believing.

Essentially, they are just skins, but they are part of a collection. There are three coats; one for each weight class. You are guaranteed one box on your first completion of Vinewrath. The other two are randomly dropped at the end of following Vinewrath completions.
Unlike the other Carapace armor skins, the coat is not available from vendors.
Want more numbers? I did another 7 runs this morning. Nada, nil, nothing.
How are players like Scoobaniec able to amass 57 boxes, whilst players like myself are forced to do this event over-and-over again and not able to find one?
ANet, please fix your RNG, it is broken. I’ve been doing this event almost every day for WEEKS now, and I am getting sick and tired of constant disappointment. I am beyond frustrated with this collection.
I have found more Truths, than I have Carapace Coat Boxes. How does that work?
