Casual playing vs Full game exp
Again? You are really obsessed with the gem shop stuff, arent you?
I’ll humor you.
The game is 1.5 months old. Unless you have an entire guild backing you plus hours a day to game, you cannot expect something like a Dusk yet. Legendaries were supposed to be extremely rare and extremely hard to get, so I guess they’re serving their purpose.
Same for the Halloween items. I had two keys to spend last night that I saved from last week. Didnt get a weapon skin, but I’m not whining, nor spending my hard earned RL moneyz. Those skins too are supposed to be rare, hard to get and special. You get lucky, or not. There are items out there that you can get easily, and there are da spesjul stuffs.
Seriously, if every brain damaged monkey got every special item handed to them ingame, they would not be special now, would they?
And I’ll say this in the nicest way possible: you sound like a spoiled child you throws a tantrum when mommy tells him he can’t have that shiny diamond necklace to play with. Learn the meaning of “long term goal” and “patience”.
Consider it this way — if you had stuck with rare instead of exotic gear, you’d have the equivalent of 50-60 gold. Depending on your crafts, you’d have an additional few gold. Prob’ly if you look in your bank, you have 20+ gold of materials. And casual or whatever, you could have instead spent one or so of those hours making money instead of leveling and crafting.
Forced to buy for RL money? No one is holding a gun to your head. Your characters will play just as well with conventional gear.
Myself, I’m finding plenty to do with the event that doesn’t involve spending money, real $ or gold.

Only brain damaged monkeys here are ppl who ant read they are not invited to topic. What i like and wish to see is my own concern, if you dont like it you are fro to go to topics that invite and support fanboys and buyers.
I’ll quote yourself:
it may be wrong but you can point out flaws if you wish.
By your own invitation, I did point out the flaws in your arguments. If you only want people telling you what you want to hear, a public internet forum might not be the best place to start a discussion.
You can totally get the entire’s game worth of experience. You just won’t look as cool. If that’s bothering you, then you can always buy gems to convert to gold. But if you are a casual player as you said you are, those things shouldn’t bother you at all. The grind past top-tier armors are merely cosmetic and will in no way make you better or worse in your gameplay experience than an ugly-looking armor set. Hell, make an asura, as tiny as you can, and you won’t have to bother looking at ugly armor/weapon as they’re too small to see anyway.
(In retrospect, I shouldn’t have mained an asura. quip is gonna look so tiny x.x)
if you are a casual player you should not really care about how long it will take you to have your legendary item. one day you will have it. that’s all i think.

Well to me its as important to have ability to use cosmetics as much as ability to go wvw or spvp, maybe even more.
You’re not casual.
I’ve been playing GW2 since release, my first character is lvl60, and my other character is lvl 25.
Anyways, the secret to being a happy casual is to see through the stuff game designers put in to waste the time of OCD people with no lives.
Achievements, cosmetic rewards, rare items, etc.
All of that is just stuff they put in so that “hardcore” players can be occupied during their 2+ hours every day. (I play for a few hours every week.)
I ignore all of that stuff and just play the content with the highest fun vs. time ratio. I acknowledge that some people need stuff to waste their lives grinding for, but I’m too smart to play that game. (which is why I quit EQ2 and WoW after a few weeks, and the only MMO I spent a reasonable amount of time on was GW1. And why I’m playing GW2.)
When I’ve exhausted the easily-available content in GW2, I’ll go play something else (or play PvP.)

let´s leave aside your use of that childlike f-word in your opening and that starting a thread with insulting people not being a great idea if you want a serious discussion. You have a point in as much the requirements for the legendaries are really a bit off. But then, the cosmetic things are currently to only long term goals to aim at. Personally, I am not into cosmetic items, but I can see how someone who is could really be hurt by the requirements. But I guess once those items become more common and hence predecessors are in lower demand, the prices will drop so at least you get a bit of relief there. Thanks for referring to me as a boy though, really compliments my aging butt.
I just read the OP again and I am still not sure what you are actually saying.
Are you saying a casual player can’t get xp or are you saying a casual player can’t look nice with out spending RL money?
Or are you just saying you can’t wait for a legendary?
OK here is my opinion:
A casual player gets as much xp as a player who plays his life away, just at a slower rate.
A casual player can absolutely look great without grinding gold and or spending RL cash. Yes you can look great by just playing the game- again it just takes longer.
As for legendary weapons, they are legendary, rare, much sought after and for the casual player it will take a long, long time to get one.
See the theme here? All good things take time.
They are long term goals. They are intended to take months and months to complete.
What you are complaining about is your own impatience with getting these long term goals. If you really want a legendary weapon for example, spend your play time working towards it, you won’t get it in a month like some of the people who play a lot lot more than you. But why is that a problem? If somebody is willing to spend a shed load of their own time in game, why shouldn’t they be rewarded for it?
If your too impatient to wait and gather materials for the item you want slowly, and buy gems/gold because of that, that’s not a problem with the game.
I can just as easily write: Dear Anet! The HW stuff is over priced and out of reach for those of us who’re super-casual gamers – ie, we only play for two or three hours, accumulatively, throughout the week. It’s not fair that we, who only average out three to six silver a week and barely have more than two golds to our main character’s name, can not buy even one key for the BLC HW stuff.
Of course, I understand that I chose to put myself in that position and, more importantly, I realize that having a chainsaw skinned sword will not, in any real way, better my life at all. Thus, I will not post such a moronic whiney little complaint and just continue to be able to enjoy my Halloween experience in GW2!
If everyone has everything right away then people will be complaining it is too easy and/or get in general bored. I play couple of hours in the evening and I have almost completed my exotic set, it looks great. Each piece costs me around 1g or less to make it. That is very little and quit easy.
Tx for response.
I hope your GW2 gameplay will continue way it goes now.
Q: How is it possible for casual player to get access to some of the items like HW event models or even items like Dusk ?
A: With time and patience.
I don’t think this will be the last Halloween event, nor server will close in a month.
