I know there have been a few other posts about this, but there has been no official response. Celestial is a statset of “every” stat, and is considered by many people to be the weakest statset in the game. By running celestial you get more total stats compared to focused stats, but you lose the scaling they have.

Using the PvP Amulet as a guide:
Celestial offers 376 of each stat, 560×7=3,920.
Knight’s offers 900+900+1200=3000

Now if the new stats were added it would be another 560×2=1,120. Leaving celestial with a 5,040 stat total to the average 3000. As it stands that would be not balanced well.

Adding the new stats would mean we have to lower the stats you get, but we will still gain a larger total in the end. This messes with scaling, but something like a 8% nerf lowers the total stats for each stat by 45.
560-45=515.
Adding the 2 new stats: 515×9=4,635

Concentration and Expertise offer 1% per 15 stats, 515 stats would offer 34% boon and condition duration total.

Celestial will never be “optimal,” but as an “every stat” statset, it kind of needs every stat. One way or the other, we need a more official statement on Anet’s plans for this.

Concentration and Expertise were always “stats”, they just weren’t named such. It would first be better to look at why condition and boon duration were not initially on the celestial gear rather than not being added post-update. Maybe they should be added, but this would definitely put Celestial way over the top even if an 8% reduction were factored in; it would need to be a greater reduction I think.

Also, weakest by which metric? In PvP, last I recall, it’s still quite the powerhouse amulet, at least situationally. It is surely not built for damage in PvE, but you would find yourself dying much less frequently wearing Celestial as opposed to Sinister/Viper/Berserker.

I think they should just add the new stats on to celestial. I don’t think it would need any nerfs or anything. With the lower point allocation the boost to con duration and boon duration really wouldn’t be the huge but it would help to make celestial worth the investment. Currently I don’t see any reason to not either go full berserker or vipers with some rabid mixed in for pretty much 100% of pve content. In HoT maps I have been taking off my ascended celestial gear and putting on rare zerker gear instead. /as it makes things so much easier there for me. IMO it should not be easier to do things in rare gear than it is in ascended regardless of the stat combos but especially with any gear with some offensive stats. For optimizing there will still be stat combos that are much better. For example vipers with either rabid to maximize DPS or dire to add some tankiness. For a condition build It would e pretty silly to put on some celestial when you could just do fore mentioned. We all know that using zerker on a power build is the way to go. Adding some boon and con duration just makes celestial not suck as bad but it still won’t be OP or meta or even come anywhere near the meta builds except.
