Central Tyria - Mastery
Simple question here,
How exactly am I supposed to gain the XP required to unlock the mastery when I (along with most people I guess) have already got 100% map completion? I tried some fractals level 25-30 and was barely getting anything noticeable. There must be some more efficient way of gaining mastery xp for central Tyria, or is this really going to become a massive grind-fest – which is extremely disappointing if so.
Don’t be silly; ArenaNet doesn’t make grindy games. They told us so themselves.
I would like to know too, was looking forward to start doing legendary crafting but the xp bar hardly moved lol
A tomed Rev to 80 on your free character slot is the way to go – hearts and personal story move the bar very quicky.

What have you been doing in game since you hit 80? Do more of that.
RIP City of Heroes

I wondered if this as the best way since all my chars except for one (and my new rev, of course,) has 100% world completion, and just doing the DEs isn’t moving the bar hardly at all. I was disappointed because I have 30 Core Tyria mastery points that I’m not even close to being able to use.
Take your face and smash it against the grinding block….
Then start QQ’n about Pre-crafting like the rest of us
Pre-Crafting that legendary solo adventure that lacks any form or RNG or forces you into group modes you have no interest in that might as well be RNG like getting into specific fractal instances. It’s old group content required when everyone is either in HoT, Halloween, or soon to be Raids.
I see now why they picked the Hammer for the showcase as all they had to do was kneel at a couple statues…. It’s nice the task are different depending on the pre it’s just some seem rather unfair compared to others.

Try not to level any alts the old way if you want exp for Mastery lines. Use tomes to 80 then do map completion and personal story. Use every exp buff you can. Food. Fireworks, nourishment. Banners. Boosters.
Unfortunately the labyrinth doesn’t count for Tyria. I was planning to grind exp in there.
I wonder if a chained set of events like Teq might be good for exp?
ANet may give it to you.

I’m off doing adult things that don’t permit me to play very much, so I have a question:
I’ve leveled to eighty about ten million times(and have 42 tyria mastery points, which seems kind of low for what I’ve put into the game?), many of those levels came from killing world bosses and players. Is killing either of them a viable means of leveling?
Events are supposed to be what this game used to help people level. So chained events should be the most efficient way to gain exp, and (from memory) the higher the level the higher the exp. Teq has a number of events right after another so that one should be a good source of exp.
It looks like getting gold for one mega laser event is 8,453 exp.
