Guild Wars 2

Well I recently started this game with 2 of my friends since we all got the game, and so far enjoying it very much. However, I’m wondering if certain servers are just dead/unpopulated compared to others? How do I know which servers are populated?

I am asking because I feel that the whole server population thing on the server browser is really lacking clarity and/or inaccurate since it says ALL servers are HIGH in population lol. Like I’m posting a Looking For Guild thread but NO ONE is playing on my server apparently. I’ve only seen maybe 5-6 people at max in one zone, which is quite depressing to say the least (especially in a MMORPG).

Anyways, hoping someone can answer/clarify on the whole situation as my friends and I are pondering on whether we should stay in the server Gate of Madness.

The easy way to tell how big a server population is is their wvw ranking.With that said a lot of zones will still be empty on the big servers.The 2 most populated servers na are jade quarry and blackgate.

Try guesting to one of the “very high” servers and take a look at the difference. It may cause you to pony up to get the gems for a move.

TC is a very active PVE server with a strong WVW. Blackgate is as well.

I can’t remember what server my guild originally was on but last year we moved to TC and it was night and day better. Lots of folks around good for WVW/pvp and lots of people roaming the world to do events and things like that as well.

My guild [RegA] just transferred from Devona’s Rest to Dragonbrand for this exact reason. The server felt empty and very few people were motivated to do anything. It’s so bad that the server struggles to pull together enough people to even take down Claw of Jormag. It was pitiful.

Transferring to Dragonbrand has been a dream come true for both PvE and WvW. Not to mention the overall change in attitude. It’s so refreshing to be on a server that’s fun to play on and can actually get things done.
