Guild Wars 2

Reminiscing back to the days of Guild Wars 1, I recalled how difficult it was to get to level 20 (max level back then) in that starter area.

I’m challenging those of you brave enough to reach level 20 within your race’s tutorial instance in tribute to the Legendary Defenders of Ascalon. If you’re able to do it, you’ll recieve not only bragging rights, but the utmost respect from every Guild Wars 1 Legendary Defender.

Now I know that there aren’t events in the tutorial areas, so you’ll be stuck with your starter weapons and leveling solely on starter mobs within the confined instance area. Good luck, and godspeed.

Lol i love that title… I even suggested adding it to Gw2 if you have achieved it…

That being said its not that hard. There are crafting stations in every starter area. That means that I can spend 50G and level my toon from 2 – 80 with only doing crafting…

It just doesn’t bring back the joy and the hard earned achievement feel like it was in GW1. In gw1 It was exclusive title. NOT EVERYONE was capable of doing it.

Not unless I can death level.

Haven’t they made the starting instance one that’s impossible to level up in though? As in, you always get to the same point along the XP bar and, no matter how long you stay there you can’t level because finishing that instance puts you at level 2? I’m pretty sure that’s hardwired into the game … so impossible challenge.

I would say not everyone wanted to commit the time, it certainly isnt difficult now, just time consuming. And even with required death leveling way back before they added content in Pre-Searing it wasnt difficult. It took even more time (well, MUCH more) but that’s it.

Now doing certain speed runs in GW1 or in GW2 doing some JPs within a certain time frame, that is something not everyone can do.

I remember how weird it was when I realized that Pre-Searing had its own whole community of people who weren’t planning on leaving ever. It was neat that the title and some items were made for it, but I don’t think the tutorials will ever fill that role -- they are waaay shorter, and the XP amount required for max level in GW2 is far, far larger.

The tutorial areas are even prior to the race’s city and the first starting zone. No crafting stations or vendors exist, and you won’t have access to your bank.

btw with the consumable crafting stations that can be summoned you can easily get to lvl 80 inside the tutorial^^
you can get access to your bank with the gemshop items or the golem that can be summoned
i bet someone has already a lvl 80 warrior with twilight and full transmuted arah armor in tutorial xD
if you have the gold then it costs you less than a day…^^

One of my guildie actually put down engineer turrets in Defense of Shaemoor, healing skill to autocast and leveled to lvl 80 over around ~400 hours of playtime.
