it is no longer a Rich Orichalcum but still the one of the three on Southsun Cove that spawns daily.

it is no longer a Rich Orichalcum but still closely guarded by a Champion Karka o.0.

why oh why a Champion ?

champion was there to guard rich ori, but AI isn’t that great and it was easy to just skip it.
Because of that ppl “farmed” ori. Anet don’t like farming. They nerfed it. Champion still there because nobody cares really. This map is still useless.

It’s kinda sad to see it nerfed like that though. Why against the farming hmm… it’s a necessary part of the game :/ (I never even mined that ore tho but it’s sad to see it go even if I didn’t take advantage of it lol)

Sadly, I have to agree — I spent almost 3 hours my one and only time there trying to find a juvenile river drake for my Ranger (never found one), and the whole time I was there I was downed so many times it ended up costing too much for the effort in repairs and WP fees vs the drops.

Not to mention that the whole time I was there I saw only one other player on the entire map…

Juvinile river drakes are found in the area just outside of Divinity’s Reach. No need to go to Orr.

Sorry, meant the juvenile reef drake — the one that’s only in Southsun Cove.

Yeah, I noticed them when on my warrior and went back with my ranger to charm. Just googled and this vid shows the location where I found them:

Ha ha, I know exactly where that is. I had an unfortunate running and screaming episode there, having met the Broodmother accidently while murdering skelk. Was far too busy running and screaming to notice the cave, though.

My Ranger is 70, now I know where to go.

Ley lines. The perfect solution to deadlines and writers block. Now in an easy open Can.

They didn’t nerf it because they hated farming. They nerfed it because of guesting. Since you can now guest onto other servers the bots would just camp the node and guest around to different servers to get all the orichalcum. Players could do this too. I guess that falls under farming, kind of, but it’s more like abuse.

Not true – back when we had unlimited transfers instead of the weekly cooldown, people would constantly switch servers and farm ori nodes. But they disabled that rather quickly.

They most likely removed it because it was being farmed by alts with lvl 1 picks. I believe they also introduced the level requirement to the karma picks, which reinforces that theory

This entire zone is pointless anyway. It’s sad, the game could really do with some high level zones that actually look nice and aren’t full of undead. But there’s almost nothing to do there.

They stated when they released the zone that this was merely an introduction of the area for future content. Patience.

I’m still not impressed with Orr even after the nerf to mobs. There are some skill points and vistas that take some time to figure out how to get to and take some running around but who wants to spend 2 hours figuring out a vista due to respawns that are so fast and mob density that is ridiculous.

Not to mention, if I see another porous bone as loot, I’m gonna just cry. Sick, sick sick of those bones. And the Champion that took us what seemed like forever to bring down, that rolled over us like a bowling ball every 10 seconds dropped a pair of blue shoulders that merchanted for 63c.

That most certainly wasn’t worth the 15mins it took, plus the repair bill to bring down the champ. Complete waste and next time, I’ll just run by and won’t bother.

I don’t think we’re playing the same game. Also if you really think having to take some time to figure out vistas is a problem, try google.

People will complain about anything.
