So, we’re getting a lot of people complaining that the Champ fails because people aren’t popping the pustels. Problem is, I’ve noticed a good chunk of people are not moving to the safety triangle before that massive AOE. And then they die because they are unable to dodge away from the following attacks. And then time’s wasted on trying to rez the downs (seeing that quite a bit also) instead of focusing on the boss. Anyone else noticing it also? The wiki explains how the event goes so I’m wondering what’s going on. Hate having to repeat myself in chat that you gotta get to that no kill zone, only to have people argue that you don’t have to do that.

Eh? Is this really 2016? Do people still have problem with Silverwastes boss mechanics? I thought that’s so last year…

(and yeah, you’re right. People do need to get to that triangle zone to avoid the stun)

Not everyone thinks they’re wrong but are probably wrong, and since they don’t think they’re wrong they assume it’s others’ fault. This is just generalization of course but I’ve seen my fair share of hypocrites.

Heh, my last run of last night, someone yelled the Copper champ no aoe myth, and it still just amazes me that with all the guides out there, people still believe that.

Heh had a VW run like that a few days ago. Seemed like it was going pretty well then I realized I was alone in that triangle.

Its no Myth! I have watched his health rise from 50% back to 75%. Worse when it just hangs at 50% and everyone start the debate of AoE or no. Check out Champion Mordrem Husk Copper under behavior.

Offshoot:
“Abilities
Movement speed decreased by 50%; stacks duration. Crippled
Inflicts Deals damage every second; stacks intensity. Bleeding
Heals Allies On Death1”

Poison Bubbles Large and Small:
“Abilities
Heals Allies When Popped

Can it be countered? Yes, absolutely. These days however the counter is less often and discussing it while trying to take him down usually ends in a failure

It is also true there are a great number of new players in SW who do not know what to do or do not have the ability to give someone else ideas a try (after all every one is right 100% of the time).
Agreed, many are not reaching or attempting to reach the cone of safety.
Agreed, many are not killing pustules.

It has been a long time since I have seen SW fail, it is happening more and more. I thought I would never see another South Lane of SW fail, but I was wrong! All we can do is try to guide others

You forgot the fine print on the wiki.

The large bubbles move on their own towards the boss and pop on their own when they are within range of the boss. If it went from 50% to 75% then that means nobody bothered to destroy the bubbles before they were close enough. 50% to 75% would be approximately 12 bubbles all near the boss. The offshoots apply regeneration which only stacks in duration not intensity.

Offshoots: Automatically grants regeneration and fury to allies for 10 seconds in a point-blank area of effect when killed.
Which is why it’s suggested that someone with condi cleanse kites them away from the boss. I normally have ten or so surrounding me away from the boss as I range inside the room (not on the ledge) If they die while not near the boss, he shouldn’t receive that boon.
Poison bubbles (large): Poison Pop – When the bubble is destroyed, it causes a point-blank area of effect that heals allies while damaging players and inflicting 5 seconds of poison. Deals damage every second; heal potency decreased by 33%; stacks intensity. 200 radius. If they’re within range, each one will restore roughly 2% of the boss’ maximum health when popped.
Same thing with the bubbles, keep them away from the champ to avoid him being in range of it’s heals.
AoE is only really bad once the small bubbles spawn since they are a pain, but shouldn’t be a problem at the beginning of the fight, as long as the offshoots are lured away.

But, yeah, the Mangler issue, it’s not very often that I’ve seen it fail, but even with all the pustules gone, people can’t just stand outside the safety area. Which is what I can’t wrap my head around. Same with not standing on the flowers at North, or not getting behind the honeycomb at South.

This author also explains the Copper Husk pretty well. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lwd/The-Breach-Copper-Husk/

Still shows it is NO Myth! It can and does happen and contributes to copper failing.

On the other hand, I and others have helped the weekday crowd to be more successful at SW all good

Sure … not a myth. Just another case of people not paying attention to the fight.

Also, what ppl mix up with the bubbles healing and the offshoots regen is resetting. If no one gets down the pit and just range from the pits edge, copper may reset at some point and goes up in HP really fast, probably to 100% or near 100% as someone gets him aggroed again.

Usually then ppl start pointing fingers and telling that someone used too much aoe

True, Sneek. However, I often see copper fail more when there are more ranged than melee and the melee player (it literally was one warrior) is pulling husk out of range. Some, not all range then re position and the battle drags out to a loss.

Basically we should all work together and with what is working, if ranged out number melee by decent number then melee shouldn’t pull target out of ranged. After all melee hates when the target is pushed or pulled away from them If there are more melee than ranged just zip it and get in there with what ever hand to hand swap you have and contribute.

Agreed! Khisanth, attention helps. Kinda what I am speaking to above ^
