Guild Wars 2

If you kill champions for their loot (whether casually or farming), is it because….

A) You want gold or materials because you are after a legendary
B) you want gold for non-legendary reasons
C) you are after exotic skins, but you want to use them, not sell them.
D) you are after materials
E) other (please comment)

Mostly I’m interested in how many are after champion loot due to A, but I suspect a lot of people are after the skins as well.

I’ve given up on luck. I don’t chase skins and stuff >>;

I just do it because A) I’m in the area or Becauze I need the incentive of the event that champion is tied to.

B and C

I will sell the skin if it’s not one of he ones I’m after. (those are usually really cheap though, like less than one gold, so it’s not like I make much from them)

And I may use the gold I earn to buy the skins that I’m after if I don’t get them to drop.

F) I saw that champion and felt it was worthy of dying by my hand.

All of the above.

I farm them almost every day for 1h, not more. Im after skins for me and sell, depends on the skin i get

B) i want gold to spend on crafting materials to lvl up my characters and spend the rest on gems

G) You followed the zerg and did not know you killed a champ.
H) It was on the achievement list.

Probably more collecting skins for me, not that I’m really lucky in that respect.

B) I want gold so I can finish my t3 cultural set. (I’ve got everything but the mask and pants from the gold earned over the past 2 days so far WOOT!)

E) Other

I tend to simply kill anything in my way. If that happens to be a champion, all the better. I like getting shinies, although probably not as obsessively as many others, but I don’t go out of my way for them. I don’t run in the zerg trains. I don’t go champ farming. I just play rather leisurely – leveling my chars, popping around for the invasions, etc.

People don’t know what E) is – except the guy above me. ^^

I’m gonna roll with C) because although champs are fun in a zerg, I’m not out there strictly to loot them for their exo drops and cash in on the opportunity. I’ll probably never be one of the exceedingly lucky few that gets a good looking and rare skin early enough to caplitalise on the fact… but also I have a number of alts whom I’m saving stuff for when I get to play them. I already have Cobalt waiting for either my war or guard, and by the way that’s the only decent looking skin I’ve actually had come from one of those champ loots. The others (hammers, GS, etc.) still elude me.

C
Who needs gold when you have very good looking weapons from champions.
Sadly i could not work out who drops the daggers so i just bought them from the TP but i love how they look and they fit my ele well.

B… I realized early on that it takes money to make the world go ‘round. I have no patience for crafting and I find it confusing and boring. So that means that if I want to outfit any of my chars in exotics, I’m buying them off the TP. Add the cost of food for those long battles and WP costs and so on and so on. Oh and the achievement points for having coins in your bank, though I will stop at 100 gold on that one.

F) All of the above.

People, its simple, I play for rewards, specifically shiniez, where the shiniez go so do I. Bifrost and Sunrise.

E) They are there. They have stuff. Why not kill them for their stuff? Now I feel like a mugger but that is a very typical RPG thing. Back in the day we used to be able to run into every house and rummage through every chest/drawer/cupboard/etc. we can get our blood soaked hands on.

Also what the two people above said. If it’s in my way then it needs to die. This includes all the boars, deers, sheeps, chicken, tuna, etc. as well.

Personally, I never kill champions except during DEs like the current one where I get them by default of doing the event. The rewards for them don’t make it worthwhile for me to go hunt them.

I do it to screw up the zerg rotation and to feed off of their rage and tears…

A. Once I hit level 80 I set a personal goal for myself to get a legendary. So i’ve been playing the game and enjoying all the content but at the same time keeping that goal in mind. I don’t farm much, ill do an hour or two every like 4 or 5 days. I’ll play wvw, do dailies, level alts, just have a good time, but all the resources go into the main “For Legendary” jar.

A, B, and C

Mostly C though. I loved being able to directly farm for something specific that I liked in GW1. It is almost impossible to do that in GW2. The champ bags are as close as I can get to that. There are a few skins I like so I’m after those until I get them to drop.

E) Because it’s standing in the way of us Completing the Event / Temple Chain

…I don’t even open these stupid boxes, they’re just piling up like those lame Tickets I’ll never use (yeah I watched videos of someone fighting Liandri… Watching someone play “Papers Please” was honestly more entertaining.)

I don’t actually know. I don’t need the money because everything I want in the game now are untradable.

I guess sometimes I just feel like collecting stuff for collection’s sake….
