Why don’t you just make a new one? It’s not like leveling to 80 is a big deal.
It’s too difficult. Changing race would have to change story and any cultural outfits you have. And also, considering the price of such a thing in gems of a total makeover kit + name change contract (in case you want to keep name lore-friendly) + extra for changing actual race, it’d probably end up cheaper just to buy a new character slot.

I would make a new character, but then i would have to get 100% map completion again which tbh i kinda dont want to do. Also it wouldnt really matter about the cultural outfits, because you just wouldnt be able to wear them. If you really wanted a different cultural armour just make a character and buy it…

Expense in creating these thing and neither does the work involved because they are paid services through the cash shop. If it sells it will pay for itself and being digital will lead to additional revenue in time.

It’s simple, they just need to put in description “Warning, your story will be reset and you’ll have to do it again. You will also lose x and y items”. Every player can decide if it’s worth it for them, before they buy. Cultural armor? We have skins in wardrobe. Why would we lose cultural armor just because we would change race? We bought that armor with gold that we earned by playing the game, we didn’t earn cultural armor by doing story of certain race. You can buy charrs’ cultural armor when you play as human if you want.

They can do it..trust me on this one …they just doesn’t want to implement such an option.

I’m sure they can. They didn’t say they couldn’t. They said it would cause a LOT of bugs.
I am positive the development and programming teams have a lot more on their plates that designing a race change option. I’m sure they also have much easier ways of making RL money like gliders, outfits, and minis.
And just because you and others don’t care about the PS, doesn’t mean that there are just as many or more who do.

Eh, I think there’s a big difference between requests for mounts and this. Mounts are a feature that arguably is wanted for nostalgia reasons rather than necessity (WPs are faster and more practical, for the most part). In contrast, a race change seems to be as simple to the average person as a gender-bending total makeover.
In both cases, forum veterans will have seen dozens of posts on the topic, so it feels like old news. But it’s a fresh question for new players.

With all due respect, not comparing the subject matter but the frequency/redundancy which could be traced to forum software situation.
I have wanted to change my norn to an asura for a very long time.
They could make a lot of money from it. In WoW I once changed race like 10 times in a year, paying 20$ for it each time. I was bored and had money to spend so why not.

It’s possible in WoW and yet I think WoW has a lot more complex stuff like all the factions you earned reputation, the faction you were and your story (which is straight forward though).

Woah chill there dude. Who said they would have to lie about it? How hard it is to add description to race change contract that say “upon use your story will be reset and you will lose X and Y”.
