Change Your way of thinking about PvE content
Maybe in future maps, but I really doubt they’re going to waste time going back and adding new event chains to starter zones (or any existing zones).
A word of advice to devs: Don’t have any failure routes that are more rewarding than the success routes. I’m sick of people forcing stuff to fail and talking trash to those that want it to succeed especially for the current living story, The Dragons Reach: parts 1 and 2!
Kessex Hills with the Toxic Alchemist (old lingering living world content from season 1) and Frostgorge sound with the Vigil Attacking the Svanirs to destroy the totem (which needs a success to account as credit for the LS step).
For the latter event: People like to make fail to farm the champs and spawn champs to fight over and over when people that need LS credit can’t get it done cause it keeps failing.
Changing shards doesn’t help as the next shard in this blasted kitten we called megaserver has another big group doing the same thing causing failure to get rewarded.
Its not proper game play and it hurts those that want to play honestly and do the content how its meant to be done.
I barely was able to do the LS step I needed by having help (one fellow like-minded party member) and ruining it for the farmers by killing the last champ.
Please Anet fix events so failure means failure. No more alternate paths unless they have worse outcomes and worse loot.
It’s all about focusing on gameplay (open-world PvE) to be interesting for someone who already completed it.
Why League of Legends has become such a success?
Because all game is focused on the gameplay, people play to have fun from what they do in-game. If you complete hearts and discover all map, did the dungeons + fractals – you have no content in PvE. That’s why we need world changing events, etc.
GW2 is more of a puzzle piece rather than an open-world so you’re funneled into the other zones through specific portals so its really tedious to pass through those lower level areas with invisible walls and un-scalable cliffs. It’s easier to just waypoint. There’s less of a chance of someone passing an event and saying “Well, might as well complete it since I’m already here”.
You are downscaled in lower level areas, this game’s end game doesn’t start at level 80. There’s nothing stopping you playing these lower level events and being rewarded for them…
Maybe in future maps, but I really doubt they’re going to waste time going back and adding new event chains to starter zones (or any existing zones).
They have already done so. They added new events several times. They went mostly unnoticed, though.
I totally agree with OP.
