Did they change how we receive map completion rewards?

I went through Caledon forest today and finished the map on 3 characters and never got a map completion chest. There was however a transmutation shard in my bags that appeared somehow but no gear or 40 stack of zone levels materials.

I just went and finished off Caledon on my second necro (she was around 20% done when I started). Got full rewards for completion. So, yeah, don’t think it’s bugged.

No change. I’ve done several on the last few days and it’s the same. A transmutation charge or key. Some mats and a piece of gear. I’ve done Queensdale, Harathi hinterlnds, Gendarran fields and Bloodtide coast and gotten the usual.

If you’re positive that the maps are 100%, submit a ticket from the forum here.

Remember, they added a Renown Heart or two, as well as other map completion points to some maps. If you had previously completed a map and received a reward, you would not receive a reward, again.

If the characters in question did more than a Renown Heart, PoI or Vista or two at this time, then a ticket to the CS Team would be in order.

No. It was a wiggle chest on the side and then a panel with the 4 items opened up when you click on it.

As inculpatus asked, did you by chance just do a heart and a poi in the start area of that map? That was added some months back and if you already had that map done and then did those, you won’t get anything extra.

These characters had between 10% and 30% map completion when I started them so the scenario Inculpatus mentioned wouldn’t apply, and what brought it to my attention was the total lack of any “wiggle chest” when I reached 100% I could understand 1 chest as an anomaly but 3 consecutive toons through the same zone made me think they may have changed the method and type of reward they are giving.

Interesting. My char still needs that map. I can see if I can finish it today and see if that bug hits me also.

In your case though it sounds like you need to contact support. Maybe those chests are locked behind another chest in some way. Why don’t you try logging into each char that you have in turn and see if a chest pops up on one of them, such as a daily login reward chest.

If you didn’t get a wiggle chest as a reward for finishing a map, it’s because you had previously completed the map already. Many maps had new POIs, waypoints, vistas, and hearts added. You probably just forgot you’d already completed the maps before they added the new things. The reward has not changed for completing a map for the first time.

Caledon Forest had a heart added to it last September.

Edit: I’ll take one of my uncompleted toons through there to see if I get the same issue.

Could you add the bolded part of this to your first post as many people will likely miss this post.

EDIT: Gaile mentioned in an older post that some skill points require you to consume an item. If done out of map, you may not get map rewards. This was from early 2014.

When you say “between 10% and 30%” are you referring to that percentage overall, or just for the specific maps that you recently completed?

I also just finished map completion of the Caledon map on my new char. She was at 49% of that map when I started and I got the chest and the panel with the four items in it at the end.

The specific map, and I was able to complete Metrica Province today on 3 of the same toons, 2 of them got a reward chest and a third got the chest briefly and then it disappeared and there was a transmutation shard in my bags.

I noted the difference between the third toon was I had over 10 unclaimed renown hearts where the wiggle chest appeared briefly, I starting to think this may be causing the chest to auto open somehow.

Yes, if you leave that many rewards just sitting on the screen, any additional ones not shown will just be dumped into your inventory.

“The UI will display up to three unclaimed chests, including the ones from map completion, the daily, or the monthly. If a fourth bonus chest is earned while the first three float in the UI, it will appear after you claim the items from any of the first three. Any additional bonus chests beyond the fourth one will be automatically accepted into your inventory when you exit the game or enter World vs World.”
