Dailies are good fun and help you encourage to do something in-game you normally wouldn’t do or just gives you a reminder of what you can do.

However, for me personally there are days that I don’t feel like doing some requested objective, I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one.
There are also days people are just not able to play, (work/school/etc…).

What about changes dailies into weekly objectives?

The point with this idea is not to get rewarded once a week, but more like a catch-up system, a way to still do the previous dailies until the week ends.
This gives players back their freedom, you can then decide if you want to do your dailies or not.

Different objectives suited for the player.

-Pve (objectives for pve only)
-Pvp (objectives for structured pvp only)
-WvW (objectives for wvw only)
-Mix-it-up (random objectives for all game-types)

Once selected you would be locked in those objectives and wouldn’t be able to change them during the week, if you finish it then a bonus reward could be given just for your selected game-type. For example if you complete the pve weekly you could get some interesting food buffs.
A pvp weekly could contain a rank-up booster,etc…

What do you think ?

We used to have monthlys like you suggested for weekly objectives. However once the players finished them within the first few days they stopped logging in for the whole month lol. I can see someone logging on for weeklys and finishing it in a few hours and log off for the rest of the week.

I remember the monthlies, indeed.
A week seems more like a normal period of time for this sort of thing.

I get what you mean, but “forcing” people to play is not a good solution either.
For me dailies are not something I log-in for, I play the game because I find it fun at the time.

The thing is that you would still have your dailies but other people would be able to finish the missed days.

Don’t really think it matters if someone wishes to log-in, finish it, log-out. That’s a personal choice, it can be done now with the dailies aswell.

It don’t matter to me if I complete the dailies or not since the “rewards” are low level crafting mats and Writs of Experience.

BTW Anet, how about giving us another use for Writs of Experience and/or Tomes of Knowledge? It’s not like we’re going to be leveling up 67 chars.
