Some of the changes in Guild wars 2 were not done subsequently. I newer asked for stat ferocity on my account. I did not asked to create New Lion´s Arch to be on a server I play.
You could give me an option to chose which LA to enter. I would like to see Original Lion´s Arch.
Transmuting items has changed. Where is a box where you put two items in and chose the skin and stats. This was done for up-to lvl 79 items.

I did not have a chance to chose which skills to use. Tome of Courage and Tome of Wrath were forced out of my account. The way a character learns new skills was changed, I did not ask for this. Game experience has gone to worst not better. There were nice features on the server and my account that are gone.

I´m asking to put those features back on my account and server. I know it can be done.

If someone has a new idea it should not be forced to other players like it was for four years.
I still say that Guild wars 2 was a completed game 4-5 months after the release date. It had all features of a good game. That game was vanilla and it is gone. And I want it back. I want to have a choice between vanilla and modifications in Guild was 2. I have that option in other games.
I newer chose to play on mega server.

Why would they not change anything at all in 4 years? Single player one release games sure, a MMORPG that had a selling point of change (living breathing world ring any bells?), not going to happen.

The OP wanted ANET to ask for permission to make any and all changes since they felt the game was “complete” just after release.

Except that it cant be done.

But I am sure that the devs can compromise and change things specifically for your account, such as:
- No access to Lions Arch for any of your characters.
- No access to ferocity for any of your characters (no such gear can be equipped).
- No transmutation for any of your characters.
- Always put your character on a separate instance where no one else has access.

There you go, all your problems solved!

You are welcome.

All MMOs change over time, no exceptions. Living in the past is a waste of time.

It’s ANet’s game, and they can change it how they want. All the decisions you’ve mentioned were ANet’s to make, not yours.

The only decision before you is if you’re willing to keep playing, despite the changes you don’t like.

Change should be an expected part of any online-based game, especially an MMORPG. It’s unfortunate if you didn’t like certain changes, but that’s just a hazard of the genre, that the game is never “complete” until it’s ending.

I don’t work for Anet, but I’m pretty sure all of the OP’s changes are not things that can be provided as player options. Best I would hope for is a flashback Living Story instance for old LA, but that’s not what’s being asked for, either.

It sounds like you may not have logged into the game in quite some time. In the future, should you be absent for long periods of time, you might consider keeping abreast of changes via the News Blog accessed via the link above.

Good luck.

The question here is how what and where the changes are done. Original GW2 LA had an important lore in gw1 and gw2. New hero and her/his story is part of a present not a past.

A destruction of LA was an event, not a part of story that we should be bothered about every time we enter LA.
We as in game player characters mine iron… cut wood salvage items for crafting materials, we craft chairs and tables. We can destroy craft and rebuild. And I can buy from some NPCs books.

Well it is a part of the story, it was not just an event. It was a part of the living story season one, alot has happened to LA since GW1. A part of LA you run around on in GW1 is below the water.

This game is alot about a living world. If you want to relive old LA I suggest you play the main story that is before the destruction of LA.

I do rarely craft stuff. My Sylvari is an adventurer who loves exploring and likes technology not as mutch as Taimi though.

Ah, well….with time passing, changes occur, just as in real-life. Lion’s Arch changed from the time of Guild Wars, as well. Progress happens.

There have been many changes to the game since launch. Many QoL improvements. I’m not sure I’d want to revert back to a few months after launch. Just as I would not want to go back to black-and-white TVs with poor resolution. Lol.

I’m puzzled by this. I mean, if you buy a tree at a garden nursery and plant it in your yard, will you go back four years later and demand they turn it back into a sapling, it’s thicker than the one you bought and has more limbs, you used to be able to touch the top of it and now you can’t?

MMOs changing is a feature, not a defect, and is to be expected if you stick with one for more than a month or two. Whether the changes improve or detract from the experience is a matter of personal opinion, but the devs aren’t going to stuff the tree back into an acorn for you.

The NPE was a miserable change IMHO but there have been quite a few QOL changes that were well worth it. The wallet, wardrobe and shared slots being high among them. If they ever get a build template system in place, I’d call it the biggest win yet.

Some changes aren’t as good as others. I agree that I don’t like the way you learn new weapon skills and I also preferred the old Lion’s Arch in design (that said it made sense that it changed because of the story, it’s just the aesthetics I’m not a fan off). So I do understand that you might not like some of these changes.

That said, to expect Anet to ask each and every players permission to make changes is just completely unrealistic. It’s impossible to please everyone. Those changes you mentioned and that I mentioned? Others might love the newer LA or the new way of unlocking weapons, so whose right? Who should Anet listen too?

It’s also very easy to focus on the things you don’t like that have changed but I’ve been playing since beta and I clearly remember plenty of bad stuff around launch.

  • There were so many bugs all over the game that have now been fixed.
  • There used to be horrible culling where you couldn’t see anyone a couple of feet away from you.
  • You used to be locked out of dungeons like Arah for entire days because an event bugged out.
  • We didn’t have wardrobe which is an amazing feature.
  • We didn’t have multi-guild chat which has been a positive shift away from toxic ‘repping’ rules.
  • We didn’t have raids which have been fantastic.
    etc.

I honestly feel that while they messed up a few features and they added some content I’m not happy about they added MORE features and content that I did and do love since the first year since launch.

I don’t know if you’ve been on a long break or not but I would highly recommend reading up all the summaries of what happened with the living story and watching videos about the events so you can get a feel of why some of the in-world changes happened (such as Lion’s Arch).

Because while I don’t like the way the new LA looks, it’s destruction and rebirth was an historic and amazing story in the GW2 timeline that I remember fondly and wouldn’t have changed for the world even if it means I now have to put up with uglier LA. Perhaps if you know the full story and see it unfold with your own eyes by watching the videos and read the stories you might appreciate some of these changes more with that context.

It is about a living world. You can not relive original GW2 LA in personal story of a character you created. There is a small part of it, yes. And it is about lore of in game characters and cities.

ANet is not allowed to do everything. But it can do a lot under rules they signed with their own targeted players.
