Changes to NPE? Lets just get rid of it.
yea and stop gating everything for kitten’s sake
Everyone knows that the NPE was a very bad move on Anets part and they understand a lot of people are unhappy with it.
it was more of an effort to make the Chinese client of GW2 and the Western one more alike, though you will never hear them say that because it sounds bad for PR reasons.
NPE was presented as an improvement to the game, and in a way it was… it made it easier to streamline and manage both Chinese and Western clients on the development side, but before you start to picture that greedy business executive type in your head, this is not underhandedness or manipulation that is just good business practice under the guise of PR wordplay.
But I still disagree with NPE and what it is. It shows that the ones in charge are willing to degrade our experience of the game all for the sake of productivity and the bottom line. that they are willing to go ahead with these changes without seeking enough player feedback and I find it inconsiderate.
Anet says there looking for input on how to change NPE but I say get Rid of it.
P.S Anet if there has ever been a concern about that bottom line all you ever had to do this whole time was drop more skins, cosmetics and ascetics in the gem shop. (trust me I spent to much on dota 2)
I’m not so sure NPE was a “bad move”, so much as “badly calibrated”. There was a considerable problem with implementation, and some parts I just think could have been done better if they had thought about it or had another pass to polish.
As for dumping more cosmetics into the Gem Store? Please, no, no more. I personally would like more stuff added to the game to be discovered rather than RNG boxed.

this is true bad implementation could be part of it but I’m more interested in seeing what they are willing to do now, without dwelling too much on why it was done.
as for more cash shop stuff, I think that is purely subjective but more skins never hurt I like Decking out and critiquing my characters look. content for the game is a different subject but they both bring income.

Well, I think they’re willing to meet halfway, as in: some things they’ll go back on, other things they’re going to stick to their guns. They’re never going to completely cave, since they believe they had a necessary change to make. So long as they think it was needed, I doubt we’ll see a total reversion.
If we do, I will eat my moa.

I didn’t say more skins isn’t wanted . . . I mean more through the cash shop. I think we’re hitting a dangerous point of saturation on how much people really wish to be spending just on cosmetics, and how much of that is only from the store as opposed to the game.
I personally like what they did with the feature pack and if you don’t then i just recommend not to make a new character.

I actually recommend making one to try it out and then offer feedback as to what you didn’t like, so they have a chance at actually learning what they did wrong.
If you play it before reacting, you’ll find it isnt the end of the world and actually includes some good redesign choices.

It rarely is the end of the world, but it seems to be the end of the game for some people who don’t like it.
I’m on the fence about the redesign choices, some are okay, some don’t seem to make much of a difference overall . . . and at least one has me scratching my head and going “what?”. (Underwater weapons.)
