Hello, I’m curious about something for future content in GW2. In this game, you currently have a system where you go into a zone and every thing is marked on your map, points of interest, vistas, hearts, etc. Many of you may love this, but I for one am not a fan. It removes the discovery feel of finding something interesting. Since there is already 100% map completion for existing content, I’m hoping for future content you can have zones that you are rewarded for exploring and not rewarded for just going places marked on a map. Also, I know you can turn it off on the map, but I’m asking if it will be turned off completely in new zones or content.

Thanks.

The map is littered with treasure chests, events, jumping puzzles and rich nodes. Finding those is half the game.

Merely focusing on 100% will have you miss most of the really interesting stuff.

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.

I doubt it. There’s no reason to offer people a choice in how they want to view the map and then suddenly strip that choice away by forcing them to only see it one way.

If you want to remove the icons…then remove the icons. But there’s no need to force everyone to play the game the way that you prefer. Choice is good. Force is not.
