Guild Wars 2

It was mentioned somewhere in the wiki that we would be able to change orders “with a little effort”. I haven’t been able to find out if this is possible or not.

Has anyone done it?
What is ANet’s stance?

I’m mainly concerned because my Thief is in the Vigil, and I want to put my Guardian there as well (without having to repeat two of the same storyline). So I want to put my Thief in either Priory or Whispers instead…

AFAIK this is not possible at the moment.

And until we hear otherwise from Anet, won’t ever be possible.

Changing orders would render the middle portion of your personal story completely redundant. I get that you want the armour but if you switch orders before Forging the Pact it’s completely game-breaking from a story point of view.

I wouldn’t want the option in the game. Would having your Guardian in one of the others really be the end of the world?

Well, I ended up putting the guardian in vigil too. With my Thief I didn’t really care about the armors since I don’t like any of the medium order armors… so I chose Vigil based solely on the fact that they have the coolest looking base. This time though, it was due to armor.

After finishing the story changing orders to get different armors should not be a problem and isn’t story breaking since it’s completed. It would be nice for a response from the Dev’s since wiki says one thing and no way right now that we know of do it in game.

I’ll have to dig it up, but I remember reading an official red reply stating that changing orders is not currently possible.

You’d have to roll a new character to be a part of a different order.

well if its only for the armor I dont see a problem with simply giving the option to buy the armor even if you are from another order (after you have killed zhaitan of course) since you would be rcognized as a hero by all 3 orders.
