Dear lovely Arenanet-Magicans,

firstly thanks a lot of making it possible to change stats of ascended gear. It works most splendid on weapons, armor and… well. Meh. That´s the point. It does not work on back items.

Would like to know, if they were simply forgotten or are not changeable by intention. It would be a unpleasant thing to craft a new ascended back item again. ._.

99.9% sure it was intentional to not allow jewelry and back slots to be changed.

Why would you need to craft another Light of Dwayna? There are much cheaper ascended back items to craft.

I agree on jewelry, but back slots are quite different and harder to obtain.

Yea, not saying it wouldn’t be nice, I’m just saying I don’t think it was an oversight that back pieces don’t work.

Meh, but that´s actually quite inconsistent. Back items like Light of Dwayna are very cost intensive and it would be a shame to have them lying around unused. ._.

Inconsistent depends on if you classify back items as armor or as jewelry.

I have a feeling A-net is lumping them in more with jewelry, they came out with rings, etc.

If it’s not infused you could switch the stats once by infusing it xD a little more costly then the current stat change via forge for armor and weapons, but it’s one option.

Over all, yes I agree it would be super nice to be able to change stats on them; but I’m reasonably sure they were omitted from stat changes on purpose.

Edit: Oh, I forgot how expensive ectoplasm got. 100g for a stat change it not cheap at all.

^^; it should reset it to “stat selectable” the catch is you can only do it once, so be super sure on what you pick!

Ow dear. This does not seem to be an option at all. Especially for guys with infused stuff. There really should be a possibility to change stats. ._. Pleaaase!

A back item gives a tiny amount of stats overall. The difference between an exotic back item and an ascended one is truly miniscule. You could just get yourself an exotic backpack with the stats you want instead.

If you’re worried about the infusion slot, craft one of the level 78 backpacks. They come with an infusion slot, and while you can’t slot in level 80 upgrades, they have higher base stats than they should have, making them competitive with level 80 backpacks overall.

Mh. Well, I would craft ascended just for the stats anyway. But actually I want to slot in one of those WvW-Infusions, so it has to be ascended. And so far I can see there are not lvl 78 ascended back items, or are there?
