Chaos Gloves : Will they make a come back?
They looked terrible.
Maguuma – [TriM][DERP]
They looked terrible, but you definitely noticed how terrible they looked – which was the entire point.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see them make a comeback.
It would be neat. I’d personally like a retro weapon and/or armor piece in each dungeon.
Chaos gloves and chaos axe made with recipes that include gifts of ascalon (AC)
Bone dragon staff and draconic aegis requiring a stack of shards of zhaitan and the appropriate dungeon weapon.
Stuff like that.

These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”

Well, that didn’t work out too well. Since there were tons of those “look at me, I need attention! Am I not cool?”-kids (yeah, I know they weren’t only kids. I personally know some grown-ups in their thirties who were just like that) there were so much of them nobody noticed them anymore. Just take for example the monk – there were so many of em with the combo of tormented shield, chaos gloves and voltaic spear that they were like a freaking clone army. Since they tried so hard to be special, they achieved the exact opposite. You’d have rather noticed someone in a normal armor for not having this.
It’s just the same in GW2 with CoF-armor. Everybody wants to be cool and stand out with dark, burning CoF-armor, but since everybody and their mum wears it, a lot of people ignore it more than they would do with other armors.
We do not need Chaos Gloves as much as we need female Mesmer armors from GW. I am severely upset that I cannot slay dragons in lingerie. Guild Wars 2 is too conservative!
anet knows nerds love shiny things (look at how many people wasted 500e on fugly fractal backpiece) so of course they will come back.

Which female Me armor are you referring to here? I guess Enchanter/Elite Enchanter is kinda like lingerie, but it’s definitely more conservative than many of the female light armors in GW2 (see Winged or Feathered light armor sets)
If you want original GW1 mesmer armor, the Heritage light armor (from HoM) is based off artwork of GW1 mesmers.
Still not gonna get the gloves if they make a comeback in GW2. Never liked them in the first game (even though I could easily afford them by the end of my 7 year gaming life there), still don’t like them now. :P

Very familiar with the Feathered/Winged, but there’s not really any tight/short/lacy numbers. In GW1, I could wear just the hose/hotpants with the open cleavage blazer with mesh. The dresses were very short but the detail was so amazing. My mesmer had so many sets. Elite Kurzick, Elite Canthan, Elite Enchanters, Obsidian, etc…
And heritage armor on females is a joke. That is the worst fitting on a 3D model I have ever seen in the history of Guild Wars. Even on the males it is so unflattering and unwearable.
