Chat Panel
Avascar gave a valid tip that some people might not actually know. Maybe you should calm down a little?
Another method to change chat channel, you can click where is says map (or whatever your current channel is) and it’ll list all of them and you can select from there. It will also list the last several people to whisper you.

Except GW1 had the same system? You either typed in /a or shift+1 to get to All, /p or shift+2 to get to Party, etc with backspace being a response to the most recent whisper. The system isn’t all that changed up. Taking All or Trade out of your filter didn’t automatically turn it back on again once you said something in either of those channels, you had to re-enable the filter. Create customized tabs and switch between the one you want to use right now.
This could not be a more trivial thing to complain about. But then again this is a modern day gaming community where if people can find something to complain about then they’ll complain about it.
sweet post i love it
I don’t understand what OP is saying.
I have permanent separate tabs for party, whisper, map, guild and say (labelled p, w, m, g and s). I may have to make a target channel at the bottom match the tab option at the top at start of a session but once that’s set it doesn’t change. When I’m on one and want to switch to another I just click on the tab marker at the top of the chat. When I type on that target channel it goes to that chat. I never have to type /map or /say, for example, to talk on that chat.
As far as I can tell the only differences from the GW1 system are that you have more options and some of them are in a different place.
If you have multiple tabs you can leave each one set to use a different chat channel, and then they function basically the same as the buttons along the bottom in GW1. For example if my ‘Main’ tab is set to map chat and I switch to my ‘Party’ tab it automatically switches me over to talking in party because that’s what I left it set to (even though this tab also shows me say, squad and whisper).
If you create a tab for each channel you use regularly (I doubt that’s all of them) then you’ve got the system from GW1. But with the added benefit that you can pick which channels to hide separately for each tab.
Edit: You can also click the name of the channel you’re currently using and pick a new one from the list (which includes ones that are hidden on your current tab). It’s one more click but it can still be quicker and easier than typing it out. It’s the option I use most often.
