Q:

I appreciate that Arenanet is keeping us free of spammers bothering us with chat message after chat message of folks attempting to sell gold, and otherwise making a nuisance of themselves.
However, I feel it may be a bit excessive that a player gets “suppressed” after holding a conversation in map chat that lasts more than 3 messages.
when trying to help other players find their way around an unfamiliar map it is extremely frustrating to not be able to talk to them after the 3rd or fourth message.

not sure what can be done without allowing spammers more leeway, but there must be a way to allow us to talk to each other in a “full party” map chat only scenario.
Thanks for your time

Yeah, the sad part is we are suppressed while the hax continue to spew their BS continually. I was in PvP the other day for about 2 hours, in that time I received 13 pm gold spams and 2 or 3 more in the reg. map chat. While I can’t say, “thank you” to 3 different people without being suppressed. That is seriously messed up…

It’s pretty bad in the crown pavilion if you’re calling bosses and not on teamspeak with the other callers. I’ve learned to change up my words so they don’t end up triggering the magic chat suppression filter, so instead of “wiggin at 50%, wiggin at 25%” I have like 4 different names for Wiggin and I’ll leave out “at” or replace it with “@” and sometimes just leave off the % sign.

It works most of the time, but still.
