ok, So I always mess up my chat and I looked at the instructions on GW2 Wiki.

I can get everything, team, party Whisper Say etc. how do I get the world chat back?

I can only communicate in say which is local ( immediate surrounding area correct?)

I try to find some groups that are doing the events but never get to actually talk to others.

Anyway, what am I doing wrong? lol (or maybe I don’t understand how it works)

immidiate (around you) is the say chat /s /say
the whole map is /map or /m
/t /team for the team (again on the same map if in PvP areas) – team & map are kind of redundant but map always works wether you are in PvP or not.

To chat to the entire map, you type /m or /map to change your chat to zone-wide chat. There is no Server-wide or World-wide chat function.

Also, make sure you have the map box ticked in the drop-down menu to be able to see your own chat and others’.

A handy tip for new players to help them remember what to type per channel is to set it up in the menu options to display the chat channel name. It helped me the first few days.
