With the ability to change ascended gear stats, what is the cheapest stats to actually make?

Depends on what you want to switch to. Zerker is easily the most expensive followed by assassin, sinister and rampager. I’m not sure where Celestial fits in since it got toned back a bit.

The only real price savings would be if you are buying the insignia or inscription. In which case, just look on the TP, the cheapest posted value insignia + the exotic insignia you want + 5 ectos + 10 shards = total price.

The ascended materials are all going to cost the same, stat changing won’t effect that part of the price tag in any way.

And the recipe to switch stats requires the insignia or inscription of the stat you want to switch to.

I don’t think you’re saving anything to do what you’re doing. I think you’re actually going to spend more money.

Keeper would be most expensive, then sentinel, then celestial, then maybe zerker…

He could save money if he is buying the inscription straight out, buy a less expensive one and change it to zerker the price difference is almost 10g (just going off listings) however it’s still a net LOSS due to how much cheaper it would be just to craft the one you want vs doing it this way.

I agree, just make the set you want and save yourself from buying 2 insignias.

Yes but this isn’t entirely reliable. Although, in the last 3 months, I managed to get a full set of Asc. Light and 4 pieces of Asc. Heavy from PvP boxes. After changing the stats, I’ll be lookin at 80-90% savings. Whoot!

I had really good luck over the past month in fractals (and tequatl – although he been about 6weeks).

5 heavy pieces ready for Revenant (only need boots)
4 light pieces for Reaper (may go away from zerker for him that used to use)
2 random spare armour boxes.

Also got a hammer/mace/axe/sword/greatsword/scepter/2 unopened weapon boxes spare too

Too say I am happy with my luck there be an understatement. Most loot i get is trash, but been getting a bit of luck from daily fractals that will end up a huge money saver

I’d have to say crafting what you want would be the cheapest. Compare sinister to any other set (because its acquisition is different and therefore could possibly be a cheaper route). The verata’s ascended insignia recipe costs 600 bandit crests and some silver vs 21k karma for others at a crafter NPC, so that’s a bit of a loss. Each individual verata’s armor piece recipe is much cheaper however (20-70 silver per piece for a total of 1g-5g total) as compared to 5 laurels and 3 gold for other individual armor recipes bought from the crafter NPC (total 30 laurels and 18 gold). However, this cost is offset by the fact that you then must convert the stats on the final armor piece at a cost of 1 anthology of heroes and an exotic insignia per (60 spirit shards and 30-50gold depending upon the chosen stats).

The absolute cheapest method of acquisition is to earn armor boxes through fractals and then convert using the mystic forge. If this isn’t an option or something you’re interested in pursuing, I’d just craft what you want

Nice. Good drops for just a month. That’s how you know you’re gonna get nothing but salvage trophies for the next year. ;p I wouldn’t consider either case ‘typical’ for most regarding my quote though, but this past month or so has been good. Just last weekend, when all the Revs were having so much ‘luck’ with their exotic forges, I thought I might as well give it a go too. Hopped out of SW (with my thief of course) and over to LA, went to Dungeon Vendor and picked up 8 exotic swords (2400 tokens), and dropped Zap on my second roll!! Hehe
