Cheapest way to get Ascended gear with cash?
so let’s see, you’ll need 500 in your particular profession (armorsmithing, leatherworking or tailoring), the cheapest is leatherworking, the most expensive is tailoring.
You’ll need a wide variety of account bound materials: empyreal fragments, bloodstone dust, dragonite and dark matter. If you want to obtain them quickly, you can buy a lot of black lion chest keys, open chests to get alliance supply bags and hopefully get many of them.
finally there’s a small amount of tradeable materials, shouldn’t be too hard to get.

You can’t buy gold with gems and get ascended armor, you actually have to participate in world events and earn dragonite ore which is time gated. Granted buying gold makes it easier to do, but you can’t just buy ascended armor with cash.. you have to do events.

You can tally the total mats and calculate the amount of gold you need.
Paying for spots on boss fractal runs is the only way you can directly buy into ascended.
Oh, I thought you could just buy all of the mats required. Thanks for clearing that up. I had a chest drop once, contains one piece of Ascended gear but with the “wrong” stats… what do I do with that? Can’t trade it it seems.

You can sell it tot he vendor for 1g; thats pretty much all you can do.

If you have not taken the item, the chest is account bound & transferable between your characters. Find a character that the stats will work on and move it to that toon. If it’s a weapon and you don’t care for the stats on it for any of your toons, pick a toon that needs a underwater weapon upgrade.
