Hello,

In an attempt to find a better, kitten ring way to make money without farming mobs I’m going to try something new. Chest runs. With a large group I will run certain maps to see how much I get. I will be doing it in 80 zones to maximize profits. I will be doing 3 chest runs. Southsun cove, Malchor’s Leap, and Cursed Shore. I have no idea how long it takes chest to respawn. It is not one hour. It may be daily. I will be checking again tomorrow morning.

Report #1: Didn’t have time to do Cursed Shore
Southsun: 8mins total: 60s made. 2 T6 mats dropped, 2 rares from chest. Group: 13 Players

Malchor’s Leap: 15 mins total: forty five silver (anet, your chat filter on the forums is frustrating) made. 1 Crsytaline dust dropped. Group: 6 players

Which chests are you referring to? There is one in Southsun guarded by a champion skelk that I know of. Never got better than a green off it.

I think overall, because of the guaranteed gold, meta events would end up being more profitable, even if you teleport to each one. WIth the overlay from gw2stuff.com, it’s pretty easy to track them and just follow the ring. Even after you do each of them once, it might STILL be more profitable to follow them around. I’m not sure about the last part though (because I don’t have enough interest to test it).

Which chests are you referring to? There is one in Southsun guarded by a champion skelk that I know of. Never got better than a green off it.

5 chests on southsun, 2 at the steam stone jumping puzzle, 1 at the pearl island jumping puzzle, one at the champ skelk below the pearl island puzzle and one on a sunken boat south of the champ shark. I have gotten an exotic some rares but mostly blue7green.

Considering he got 2 rares from 1 chest, I’m guessing he is talking about meta-events. And also, I have never, ever seen mats drop from the JP chests.
But if so, why do just lvl 80 zones? All world bosses give you at least a rare.

@ballisitic, the original post wasn’t including the 2 rares from the queen. So if you count her in (which I’ve started doing in the run, i finish with her or do her if she pops while the run is going on) it would have been 4 rares for the first daily run. Interesting enough I had a MF buff on and I got two rares from the chest. Maybe MF does affect it.

Daily Report #2: Cursed shore and malchors leap aren’t viable right now. The monsters, terrain, and length between them don’t make them worth it. So I will only be doing Southsun for now on

Report from Southsun: 12 people about. Including queen rewards, 45 silver made. Time (including queen and jumping puzzle)10-15mins.

Daily Report #3: Had about 9-10 people with me. Including karka rewards, made about 34s. ~12mins total length.

Daily report #4: Today I ran with the MF buff from southsun. So i made about 60s just from monster drops. From the chest I got the usual 2 rares from queen, an extra rare from one of the chest and then I got something good. I got an exotic (from a random chest in the open world that normally gives you only one item) worth about 4g and 10s instant sell. So I made a total of 5g and 10s today on this chest run. Took about 15 mins.
