Children playing in LA flashback
Wait, they really removed it??? I can’t believe, that was one (If not the most) interesting parts of the personal history.
It gave some sort of prelude to what is to happen on that episode, and also gives some introduction to Destiny Edge to players who are new and don’t know who exactly they are, or how important they are.
I Can’t believe the kids got removed. ]
Edit: The only reason I can imagine they removing it is to not giving “Spoilers” about the Destiny Edge Novel. I Can understand if thats the case, but I don’t thinks its right.
Yep, they removed it. Not sure why. I know a lot of people probably walk right by it and pay no attention but it doesn’t strike me as a good reason to remove it.
This PS step happens in the old version of LA. The kids are still there.
In fact, all the PS steps that happen in an instance inside LA use the old version of the map for good reason.

I checked and you were right, they are still there (only they were moved to the side). Thanks for the clarification.
Very cool, thanks for finding them! I recently was doing the story with my last character (until the expansion, hadn’t tried a Necro yet; fun) and was sad they weren’t ‘on the way there’.
I still have to do story on maybe 4 of my characters from the beginning, I’ll be sure to find them. Stopping and listening to them was always my favorite part of that sequence.
Yup, kids are still there. <3 those kids.
That is by far the best “previously in _” I’ve seen in any medium, including sequels of books & movies, TV shows, radio serials, and other games.
- It covers all the major plot points.
- It does so concisely and accurately.
- Despite the brevity, it does a great job conveying the personalities of the major figures.
- Best of all, it doesn’t take itself too seriously.
I hope that if HoT includes a summary for new players, they do something like this. (And, of course, Debi Derryberry has to voice one of the kids.)
