Why should those who know how to play and never die be forced to wait 3 minutes each run just because the noobs keep dying.

Anet should make this game an elimination game those who do not die should continue playing and those who die should be eliminated from the game.

Another option is to rank the players and put them in groups who know how to play.

The game is for musically inclined individuals and those who do not know how to play just press all the keys making an obnoxious sound.

please fix this!

I beg to differ. While I don’t die (despite being horribad at anything musical, I can see colors and position just fine, and seem to hover around 5th place in my Choir rounds), I absolutely welcome the lulls long enough to open my reward chests, take a breath, adjust my glasses, say something in gchat, quick check a forum on my other monitor, etc. It makes multiple rounds much more sustainable for me.

I concur. Choir bell is no place for lesser individuals. There should be a battle and a victor who would then be King of Music.

But seriously, the “waiting for additional players” is really depressing. Try to do something about it.

ANet, please don’t remove the Waiting for Additional Players section or make it shorter.

Gives me time to get my head back on after barely making it through. I’m experienced but sometimes I mess up and messing up one can cascade into more mistakes.

It also gives me a chance to say something in chat if I see a lot of people struggling so that maybe they won’t make as many mistakes the next time.

Thanks for this. I suck terribad at choir bells, but the helpful tidbits I get from chat have helped a bit.

Funny thing is though, Hitman, you can be musically inclined and…suck at choir bells. There’s lag to deal with at times, and it’s not that intuitive when the notes need to be played to be “correct.” I’m sorry I make obnoxious sounds. :c I’ve been playing guitar for 16 years though, I promise I sound better irl!

I admit. I deliberately play extra notes off-beat because I get real joy out of watching/hearing the people next to me get completely tripped out of their timing.

I do ok at Bell Hero and I like having the breaks.

Like other people said it gives me time to reply to chat, finish my drink, adjust the keyboard position, check my inventory, anything I need to do and can’t whilst both hands are fully occupied playing notes.

I don’t see how the tiny break between songs is unfair. I almost always get a perfect score in there, so I’m definitely experienced, too. I think the little pause is good. It lets you talk in chat if you want to, accept the round reward/get the event credit off the screen, and reposition your fingers if needed. I appreciate the pause.

To be fair to the OP, there are players like myself that just realized yesterday that they were using the ‘5’ key…..

I wouldn’t want me around either.

Yesterday I did one round with my hands one key too far to the right. I was very confused when I was suddenly kicked out of the ring, and then I looked down and saw where my hands were. It was shameful.

When I do Choir Bells, I get 600 points while the sound is muted and I’m watching my other screen. I’ve been casually getting 600 for 3 years now and to add a little RNG, I let other players decide which part I play.

Having to wait for 30 seconds per song can be annoying, but having to wait a few minutes at the end is even worse. Of course, I just instance hop after the last song. They should allow players to join while it’s in progress and simply disable their part, or alternatively, get rid of free play since there’s plenty of time for that in between and at the end.

What it really needs though is new songs or an advanced mode with only harder songs. Even better, make a new one with multiple instruments to form a band instead of just bells.

Also, a lot of the activities force you to wait due to other players.

Considering the huge numbers of cheap choir bells available outside the bell choir activity, I do think they could probably get rid of “Free Play.” That is a pointless waste of time at the end.

This is not about elitism, this is about fairness for all. It is not fair that those who do not lose have to wait for those who lose. As a matter of fact there are 3 minutes of wasting time during a whole run. I composed this message while i was waiting the whole time (during the 30 second breaks) and i even managed to get a 510 score.

If you die trying 3 times then the game should kick you from the mini game or something. Or the game should rank the players and put those low in point with those low in point (beginners with beginners) and (experts with experts).

if you combine experts with beginners then the songs are going to be crap. Experts with experts make the songs sound beautiful.

This is elitism, plain and simple. I am normally 1st or 2nd place on Bells and could care less about the time in between. It’s a limited time event, and it is being fair by giving everyone (even those not great at it) the opportunity to join in whenever they can.

What you’re proposing is not fair, it favors one side of the spectrum (those who can hit a key when the color is in the correct spot). Do you even know what fair means?

I thought the pause was to allow people who joined in the middle of a “game(?)” to join? If the pauses got removed the wait would be a lot worse for anyone who didn’t join at exactly the right time.

What does this game have anything to do with being musically inclined?? It’s all just eye-finger coordination. If anyone thinks people who are good at guitar hero are musicians, they are really mistaken.

But back on topic: I think the wait time in between rounds is pretty long and I really dislike the wait after the last round. It should restart as soon as the last round is over. It’s annoying having to leave the instance and find a new one, or entering an instance for the first time only to enter one that’s 3min from restarting and having to leave again.

I don’t see how shortening the window between songs has much to do with being good at the game. Even if it were something like 10 seconds that is plenty time for defeated players to rejoin after a song.

Asking for people to get auto-kicked so that they can’t even have time to learn the activity is possibly the most selfish thing I have ever seen requested.

This is even worse than demanding inspection mechanics.
