So who hits harder A GS Guardian or a GS Mesmer? and which one is harder to play?

Just wanted to know out of curiosity, also can someone link me to a page that lists all the classes by dps and difficulty? just wanted to know what classes I can play that deal pretty good dps with a GS and does not have a huge learning curve.

What about a great sword Necro, or Great sword ranger or the gs warrior....

Who hits harder is a tricky question because it’s totally situational and you need to look at wether you are looking at party DPS (where you might be making a huge difference) or personal DPS.

It comes down to what you want to play and how you want to play it. I play guardian so will explain a little about Guardian and GS.

GS is an awesome guardian weapon that excels in general PVE. It gives you a solid auto attack and the skill #2 whirling wrath is fantastic and allows mobility while you set it off. This skill also fires bolts so to max DPS from it stand INSIDE the enemies red circle for wicked damage against a single target.

There are 2 main build we Guards use in respect of surivability being the use of Altruistic Healing Or Monks focus(meditation build). Meditation builds are simply put, superiour to AH builds for a lot of reasons I won’t go into BUT AH builds are fantastic to learn with especially if you favour the great sword.

Basically you take the “Empowering Might” Trait that gives you and Allies might everytime you land a critical hit and you Also take “Altruistic Healing” which gives you a small heal each time you give an ally a boon. This means every time you crit you get heals without even thinking about it.

The huge downside to AH builds is you need a party around you to get those heals so it’s not great for Soloing champs or anything like that. The other massive downside is that it’s a “Selfish” build, in that you are trading a lot of boons you could be giving your allies (Meditation Guards spam Fury all over the shop) for healing you are giving yourself.

As you play guardian you will eventually move to a meditation build that is better, but harder to manage. But long story short an AH GS Guard build is a great way to learn the game, in most general PVE fights you can literally roll your face on the keyboard and win.

The answer is GS Mesmer.

I tried both but my main is Mesmer and I rarely use GS in PVE. When I have to play her as a DPS roll I usually use sw/sw or sw/sh or sw/fo. I used GS on my GD and I feel like I could kill a group of mob faster than a GS mesmer. I’m not sure about DPS numbers this is just how I feel from my experience.

I’m not sure about DPS numbers this is just how I feel from my experience.
