Guild Wars 2

Hi, I made this post because I’m currently working on my legendary, Sunrise, but I can’t decide what class/race I want to put it on. I’ve tried looking at multiple different forum post but couldn’t decide from them. So I’m seeking advice here and hopefully figure out something that I’ll enjoy when my Sunrise is done (currently working on Gift of Fortune and getting Dawn). Currently these are my characters I have:

- (lvl80) Human Thief
- (lvl80) Asura Ele
- (lvl44) Sylvari Ranger
- (lvl12) Norn Engi

While I do have a Ranger I could use for the Legendary, I wanted to make another character that could use Sunrise. Now, I know race doesn’t matter much in terms of combat except the racial skills but instead it’s class that matters, I like to have my characters be lore friendly (except the Engi but besides him) and I do enjoy certain animations/statements that come from certain combos.

Also, in terms of what I plan to do with the character, I’d like to use it for mostly jump puzzles, World Bosses, and WvW. I occasionally do Dungeons and I’ve just started getting into Fractals but these are most likely side things I’d like to do with the character.

If you have a suggestion, please post it below. All suggestions/advice are welcome and if you have a pic of your character with Sunrise, show off your hard work I’d love to see them. Thank you very much for your time.

Side note: I do know about the wardrobe, this is more of what character will main it.

Why not all of them? Once you unlock the skin by creating it and binding it to your account, ALL of your characters can use the skin.

I know that there are going to be new Legendaries but currently I’d like to have Sunrise. Most likely go for one of the new Legendaries later but currently my goal is Sunrise.

Why not all of them? Once you unlock the skin by creating it and binding it to your account, ALL of your characters can use the skin.

True, I do plan to use it on my Ranger but I’d like to just have another character for now. Have two empty slots left and one is going to a Revenant.

Sylvari Guardian, since they are the ultimate Sunbros.

I’d go with sylvari warrior.

The style of Sunrise looks better with heavy armor classes IMHO, at least to me, so that leaves Guardian or Warrior. While my favorite heavy class is the guardian (my main is a sylvari guardian) the effects are heavy on blue glows, which clashes with the orangeish glow and trail of sunrise. With a guardian at the very least you’re going to be running with aegis (blue shield) about 90% of the time you’re out of combat, so it’s might be something that annoys you or not… it would to me, I like to keep my characters color coordinated with their weapons..

Warriors have much fewer glowy effects on them, and the ones they do have are usually reddish-orange, which complements sunrise nicely. Also the warrior attacks with greatsword seem to be more “swingy” than the guardian but don’t have the glowing effects guardian GS attacks have.

And silvary just because it’s my favorite race.. and it would look cool IMHO if you made one that glowed the same color than Sunrise..

Asuran Guardian is the way to go.

I believe I’ll be making an Asura, currently deciding on what class though. Also I’m going to take Iocoman’s idea and I’m going to change my Sylvari to match it better to the GS. Thank you all for your help.

Aren’t they also account bound and not character bound? so drop it in the bank and swap it around.

My Sunrise is on my Norn Warrior most of the time. Though I let my Sylvari Ranger and Human Mesmer play with it, too, on occasion. Someday my Human Guardian will be able to wield it. Happy that eventually my Asura Necromancer will be able to use it, too.

Make a big toon, such a a tall human, a norn or a charr, for maximum showiness with your Sunrise!

I just tried asura with greatsword and it was ok. I love the race but it did set well with me. I’m consider now trying something else.

I’m thinking about either going human, sylvari, or charr. Norn warrior/guardian feels way to over done for me and I’d like to try something different (edit note: may come back to norn but want to try others first). Also it seems warrior and guardian are tied on suggested class. Thanks for your help so far guys!

Sunrise on Asurans actually really isn’t all too small. I use mine on my minimum height Asuran and max height male Human and it’s plenty showy on both.
