Class unique weapon
i can’t agree with this, for the simple fact i would love to see some class use greataxe the way a mesmer uses greatsword

While fun to daydream about, understand that ANet’s not really into doing vast amounts of work for very little pay off – introducing even 1 new weapon type requires dozens (plural) of new models to fill in the many, many weapon sets with that new weapon. If that’s too much work when a new weapon could potentially be used by 4-6 classes (maybe more as Elite Specs continue to arrive) it’s way, way, WAY too much work to only benefit a single profession .
Necromancer: Scythe
Elementalist: Orb
Guardian: Tome
Engineer could have a slingshot .
Thief: Hand claws
Ranger: Whip
Revenant: Cestus
Mesmer: floating Cards/Talismans

What would a greataxe offer mechanically that can’t also be done with a greatsword or maybe hammer? I think some greatsword skins should be greataxes. Since we had three legendary greatswords in the base game maybe one of the HoT legendary greatswords can be a T-Rex themed greataxe with the other greatsword skin being a guitar with rifts as you swing and have pyrotechnic footsteps?
Greataxes as skins for hammers or greatswords would be good enough while introducing a whole other weaponset would create even more balancing issues.

just imagine number 3 from GS on a greataxe and backbreaker from hammer in one weapon for example

The only two on your list that would be difficult to implement would be mesmer and ranger.
Necromancer: Scythe (there is a scythe skin for staff already)
Elementalist: Orb (anomaly is a [focus?] skin that is basically an orb)
Guardian: Tome (guardians already had a elite that dealt with tomes, though the work to have it on their person would add more time since it was floating with the skill)
Engineer could have a slingshot (Engineers can already have a slingshot, there is a toy sling shot skin for pistol)
Thief: Hand claws (add some blade extension on some of the gloves and use dagger animations)
Revenant: Cestus (Cestus is a “battle gauntlet” so basically just a different skin for gloves)
The slingshot one is actually a shortbow skin.
You should prepare for your great finale.

This has already been answered several times.
What warrior needs are a 2h condition melee weapon, 2h axe could be that giving them poison, bleed, maybe even confusion and when combined with berserker burning effect.

thief still needs ranged dps… YES >> crossbow for thief
but as nike said, this type of implementation takes alot of time and effort and for now we can dream about this
but still, i think that every class needs unique weapons cuz now u see mesmers, reapers,warrs…etc. using GS and if all of them put outfits…yeah
adding more weapons types is something id be on board with but not limiting them to say only this profession can ever have it
How about we get a spiritual successor to Dervish? xD
I would love more weapon types but I am sure they’d rather put in more black lion chest skins you’ll hardly get any of unless you loaded and or lucky xD
I had this idea of a magic type class using a scepter or focus as a melee wep, for a ele maybe a blade or weapon head made of each element, or the spear for rev on land like the revenant finisher xD
Or you know, Dervish successor, not Dervish for lore reasons but still I really wanna play this class again in gw 2 >_<
