I just wanted to say, thank you Anet for creating the Clock Tower jumping puzzle.

If you guys remember, when it was first introduced back in 2012, there were a lot of mixed feelings over it. Some people praised it for being a real challenge, and others wanted Joshua Foreman’s head served on a plate for making it so kitten hard.

I will admit, I was one of those people who did not like how hard it was for the short amount of time we had it in game to complete it.

But after much trial and error, falling from sideway gears, walking off ledges, and jumping at the wrong window when you reached the top, 2 years later, I am become legend, lol.

I’ve come to appreciate this jp after hating it the first year. It’s also always fun to do once you get past the initial learning curve. And I realize now that because of the Clock Tower, I am so much better at every other jp in this game. Nothing can defeat me no longer.

So once again, thank you Anet and to you specifically Joshua Foreman for creating the most epic jp known to man.

Now I wonder how the Chinese feel about it. XD

i’m not sure if this is sarcasm thread or not, but personally i liked this jumping puzzle, it’s not the hardest thing to do ingame even with my high lattency, (at least it didn’t injure my finger like The Blazing Light achievement did)… the feeling after completing the puzzle is almost epic. But i probably won’t attempt to complete it the second time seeing as there are several more productive thing to do out there :P

I’ve finished it in previous years, even the first one when people claimed others were making maxed sized characters to sabotage the puzzle.

But I don’t think I will bother this year. I just can’t seem to make myself care.

I remember there was much hating on those fat kitten norns and charrs taking up 90% of your screen space and screwing up each and every run. xD That i remember.

I thought I was fairly decent at jump puzzles until I tried this for the first time only 15 minutes ago. Its going to need a bit more work from me to last longer than 30 seconds! Or a different character.

One thing though: why is the restart timer so slow? I was getting the “you’ll be kicked” message while waiting for the next go. I’m not that bad!

Restart timer depends on if there’s anyone still doing the puzzle or everybody failed and went back to starting lobby.

I despise the alterations made (as well as those in Wintersday), but I still like completing it. Hearing all those people fall behind me, music.

Although I do not find it very hard, I do think that it is very fun and I do it a lot when I can’t think of anything else to do and I never regret doing it. I remember last year when I first got to the top, it did feel very epic. Also, I think the area is very well thought out with the time limit in the form of the green stuff with the skeleton hands if you are too slow. although the rewards are not very much, it is the accomplishment of having succeeded is the best reward when you first do it.

I have yet to conquer the tower, although I get further and better each attempt. Closest I got was falling off the VERY LAST FLIPPIN’ STAIRCASE.

I like clock towers as well. They let me know what time it is.

I finally got to the top after not being able to do it at all last year, or several hours this year, but now that I did it, I can do it rather easily now.

Question though, why can you only pick the gloves or recipes once? I thought you could get all 3 from multiple runs, or one daily or something, so I picked the light ones (for the skins not the stats) and they just look like normal gloves, and its been a couple days and I can’t get the other ones. The heavy ones actually looked decent, but I thought I could get all 3. am I out of luck?

I thought the gloves were the same skins as karma armor?

If they are I didn’t know that, and they show up as a new skin when I got the gloves.
