Every now and then I’ll link my twitch channel before a match in heart of the mists “map chat”. I’ve gotten a couple people that PM me saying reported.
I checked the code of conduct and didn’t find anything on this. Does posting your twitch in map chat go against code of conduct?
thanks

7. You may not market, promote, advertise, or solicit within the Guild Wars 2 Game or on the official Guild Wars 2 websites.

I love broad nonsensical rules like this that somehow exclude certain people promoting their stuff about their Twitch/stream or event in GW2…

The depends….

Market, promote, advertise or solicit implies exchanging goods or services for money. (i.e. Gold sellers)

If you are linking your private twitch channel, its not really “advertising” is the strict sense. Just as if I were to link a private blog for fanfic based on a converstation in game.

If you’ve been reported, but havent been actioned you can assume that you are not doing anything wrong. However, if you do get actioned, then yes it would be safe to assume that doing so is indeed against the CoC.

A safer way way to do that would be to say that you have a twitch channel, and maybe those interested can PM you for the link. People may get the wrong idea if you are just linking it in map chat.
