It’s not like you can force people to not create min/maxed speed run groups. There will always be a requirement of some kind.

The LFG tool will be out in a week and it’s cross server, so join one of the many other available groups that doesn’t specifically state they’re doing a speed run. I imagine the tool will be terrible however, since either it will only work across a set group of servers, similar to WvW pairings, or the listings will move by so fast that by the time you click on one, it’s full.

But people are trying to build up some kind of elitism around clearing dungeons as fast as possible and I am not talking about those coordinated groups that put some time into min-maxing I am talking about people who are playing with pugs.

Personally I would rather have quality players Vs. ascended weapon carrying players anyways. The stat difference won’t make up for people being bad.

Back at Halloween I heard someone trying to form a group for the Mad Kings Dungeon who was asking people to ping every single piece of gear they had on in order to apply for his group and asking people not to bother if they had anything that was lower than rares. It doesn’t mean you actually needed rare or better gear to do the dungeon.

On a more serious note people already form speed clear groups, and many ask for specific professions or builds, but again it doesn’t mean that’s the only way you can do those dungeons.

If you don’t like someones requirements for their group (or even if you just don’t like how they’re asking, or their character name or their hair colour) just don’t join. Join another group, or form your own.

It will only get to be a problem if it reaches the point UW and FoW were at in GW1 where every single group was a speed clear and it was virtually impossible to find anyone wanting to do it any other way. (Or even to get them to understand that I might want to actually do all the quests instead of claiming the reward for someone elses effort.) But I can’t see that ever happening in this game because Anet seem to be going out of their way to avoid it.

Can’t tell me that people that love speed runs will request only people with highest statted gear to pump out maximum potential in dps.

Each new tier introduces more and more elitism. I could never understand these peoples mindsets.. You know, the hardcore try hard. This ascended nonsense just creates more problems for people who actually enjoy playing the game rather than worry about grinding their face off to bump a few numbers up on their stats.

Only a question of time before full ascended required…

And I’ll just ignore those groups as I already do even if I do have the gear they require, done it in all MMOs I’ve played.

And nothing stops you from finding a chat link of an ascended weapon transmuted to look just like whatever weapon you’re using and link that instead… after all, unless you’re doing high level fractals and might need the extra agony resist, the difference in stats between exotic to ascended in weapon isn’t that noticeable to a third party..

Unfortunately I’ve seen this kind of thing already. Simple solution for me: Don’t join any group requiring that I ping my gear. End of story

Where on earth would you get the concept for the bold?

Well, one of the main points of the hard to get better stat tiers is to separate the community, after all.

Probably 6-8 months out, if WvW is still even active then. Now Full Asc trinkets are required because it is easy as heck to get them. Plus WvW =/= Dungeon so your statement isn’t comparative to OPs

To be fair, it’s a WvW guild. Some are more hardcore than others. If you are not willing to be part of an elite WvW guild and conform, then you dont’ belong there.

Because gear matters in WvW, those +x points in vitality can make the difference between 10 people rallying or not.

yeah, which is why i explicit state criteria and gear requirements for my groups. I want to avoid the jerks that complain about gear requirements, muhahahah.

COF P1 4 warriors LF1M Mesmer (Ping gear)

COF P1 LFM Warrior Zerker only must be experienced

COF P1 LFM Warrior/Mesmer must have 5k AP

COF P1 LFM Warrior/Mesmer Must have zerker gear and ascended acc!

Self invite for xxxx whatever, must have ascended acc/zerker/5k ap or be xxx profession

Your point about people making groups and asking for a new thing is not only old and done. But ultimately your choice. How people play the game on their time is utterly none of your fing concern. So get the frack over it and play the game how you want to play it in the groups you want to play in.

The problem with this community is everyone is so kittened worried about what everyone else is doing.
