Coin Collector: Prospect Valley > wtf?
OMFG thank you you’re a legend!
Don’t thank me I didn’t make the chart.
Don’t thank me I didn’t make the chart.
I searched on google, youtube, dulfy, a whole bunch of places, and couldn’t find that chart, so without you mentioning it I wouldn’t have found it.
Got the achievement now, thanks! So GW2’s lost coin number 2 was number 15 on dulfy’s guide… that sneaky coin… never would have found that one.
OMFG thank you you’re a legend!
Of course he is, he’s Trogdor.

Reason Dulfy’s guide is dysnumbered is simply because she numbered them randomly at the time. It was years later that anet suddenly decided to add numbers to them, but completey without any order or purpose. Propably a dev who was bored and thought what little pointless things he could do

People have long asked for numbers and check lists for this type of achievement and ANet was using that for newer ones, so it wasn’t like they “suddenly decided” out of nowhere. Further, we don’t know why they numbered as they did, although the most likely scenarios are that they are in the order they appear in the database or the order they were originally added to the map. Not necessarily useful to players, but definitely with purpose.
Finally, ANet could have used Dulfy’s random order, Dulfy could have chosen to update her list to match ANet’s, and the wiki could have (and still could) include both numbering systems in their articles.
The important thing is that the information is out there and the OP got their final coin.

I tried wiki too, but it was very vague in the wording of where these coins were and in the end it didn’t help at all. Usually wiki is a great help, but it too, in this case, was useless. It didn’t have any pictures or anything (I’m a very visual person – I usually like to see pictures or a video of what to do or else I’m completely lost, lol).
I’m just glad someone out there made a chart for all this!

Lol, I know, right? XD
I wouldn’t expect Anet to change their numbering system to match dulfy’s, but at the very least I think they should give a hint as to where their lost coins are. I’m pretty sure there have been achievements where Anet eventually updated them by adding hints – I can’t remember which ones, but surely they should do that for these coin collector achievements too? We live in hope…

There’s a map included. Most of the Wiki pages reference the difference between their guide and Dulfy’s. I’m surprised no one has updated that page. I guess I will leave a note.
Neat, I was missing only #2 from that one also. :P
It surprises me how few people know that the wiki will give you the best information about the game. Except maybe full raid walkthroughs. Also surprising how few even know the wiki exists.
