As of right now there’s a collection achievement for pretty much EVERYTHING. Down to the last collectible piece of trash (literally) you get an achievement. You know what’s missing?

DYES!!!

Yea! There’s some of us out there that really love collecting dyes and are attempting to slowly get each one available unlocked, be it through crafting, drops, the TP, or the mystic forge. But it’s REALLY hard to get all the ones you’re missing collected when there’s e.g. 181 uncommon dyes and (as in my case) you have 153 unlocked. Since you can’t search for dyes in your hero panel, do you know how hard it is to find which ones are missing while tabbing back and forth between the wiki and the game trying to match what you have to the (quite dissimilar looking) swatches on the website? It’s a nightmare!!

Therefore, what I would like to see is collections for the different color sets (probably more oversee-able) so that you can actively see what dyes you are missing and actively try to get them. It doesn’t even have to give much AP (although it is quite a bit of work to get everything unlocked ;D) and it could offer an overall meta achievement that gives you the title of Rainbow Walker or something when you get all the dyes unlocked.

This is one thing that I’m really missing in the game as of now!! Red post please!!!

Could be fun for those to whom such appeals. Dunno that it’d ever be on my radar, but collections never hurt anybody. Thumbs up.

So it’s been pointed out to me that perhaps making dyes a collection achievement might make prices jump, making harder for especially new players to collect them if they do wish to buy them. I can see how there is some truth to that since playing the TP and bringing on the whole rich get richer, poor get poorer situation belongs to any game economy.
Therefore I would add that the achievement may not even be necessary but at least something that let’s me track the progress of my dye collection (i.e. grayed out dye swatches in the hero panel that let me at least find out the names of what I’m missing or just a list of “locked” dyes underneath the current sections).

I actually think it is a GOOD thing if dyes were to cost more, as then it would actually make it profitable to CRAFT them.

Thought this was a great idea, but Aechidna made a good point about dye prices rising (but then again mtpelion made a good point to counter it). Hmm, don’t know exactly what to think…

But you can still buy Unidentified Dyes with Laurels though, which are now more easily obtained in greater numbers than previously.

I agree with the general point of having achievements though, it’d be great to know which dyes I’ve unlocked already and also a way to preview unobtained dyes in the dye frame of the hero panel.

Perhaps there could be achievements for unlocking a whole series of the exclusive dyes? It would be much like the BL weapon achievements.

The fractal skins collection will be in the game. A bug made this collection visible for some person a while back. Its not ready yet, but it will be in the game eventually. Some datamining discover a Fractal weapon chest of ascended quality, but if the code is in the game, its not accessible yet. My guess is that there will be a update to fractal in HoT and they gonna put ascended fractal weapons chest as a reward and the collection at the same time (because right now with the RNG it would take a long time to complete that collection).

I would love to have an option to sort dye in a way that shows what is missing. Whether it gives achievement points or not I’d like to collect what I have missing.

Just search for dyes on the tp and set your rarity filter to masterwork, which should list all 181 uncommon dyes. Then you can just hover over each of them to see, if you unlocked it or not.

But that’s also a lot of work for something that’s not included, weirdly enough, even though literally every other cosmetic thing you can collect is somehow shown to you. Why not dyes?

What about the TP ones? I mean stuff dyes that are in Molten Dye kits or Glint’s Dye kits etc.? Would those count toward the collection?

To be honest, this could be inplemented pretty well.

Maybe award a Zephyrite color swatch for each Hue you “maxed” out. OR you can get one selectable uncommon dye for getting all common ones, one selectable rare one for getting all uncommon ones, and one selectable TP one for getting all rares.

Get a title if you have all the basic (non TP) dyes.

Get a rainbow (color changing) dye when you have all dyes, TP ones included.
