Why won’t salvaging something count as credit for the collections tab? Or is this a bug? I just salvaged an exotic Ulgoth’s Tail and it didn’t unlock on the collections tab. This is really annoying, especially since you get credit for salvaging all the weapons for the other collections, because the game counts salvaging (and i think even mystic forging) a weapon as soulbinding.

I would have been better off selling the Tail, because now I have nothing.

That might be a bug. Ik any time I have salvaged or forged I get credit. I’ve never gotten that specific exotic though.

I’d guess it’s because accessories do not unlock as skins when salvaged, whereas weapons and armours do.

It probably should be changed so that salvaging any collectable adds it to the collection.

The collectibles in themselves still have a lot of bugs. Submit a bug report and we’ll see if Anet does anything about unbugging these collections.

Yeah, I can’t imagine it doesn’t work that way already. The wardrobe was so forward thinking. And the interface for the collections tab is very similar to the wardrobe, and it pulls or shares data with the wardrobe. It never occurred to me that the collectibles tab would treat accessories differently than weapons.

I thought the collections got triggered upon acquisition not salvage. At least, the ones I’ve gotten so far seem to be that way. Or maybe in the case of things that can be traded it’s upon binding (account or soul)?

The ones that can be traded have to be bounded to the player.

i think you can actually right click on the object and bind it, not that this helps you with your situation

Like Ayrilana implied, the triggering is on bind, or on consumption for consumables or skin acquisition for wardrobe skins. The collectible items include a bunch that are bound-on-acquire, which explains what you’ve seen.
