I looked recently at the 40% sale thing and noticed that both the Heroic and Deluxe Edition come with Legacy Armor, 10 XP Boosters, ankittenhril box. I bought the Collectors Edition in ~Jan 2012 and didn’t receive those 3 items. Was this just added on recently?

Short and simple: Yes. It was added pretty recently.

I want to say mid August, but, I could be wrong. Just more incentives for people to buy the pricier versions of the game.

The Heroic Edition of the game was released at or about the time of GW2’s 1-year anniversary.

Yeah it was an addition to the normal and deluxe editions of the game that was added for the 1 year anniversary.

The legacy armor is one set of either Krytan, Primeval or Profane armor from the gem store. The XP boosters are the same ones you get in the gem store and the box is one of the ones armorsmiths can make.

Kind of a random thing to give away IMO. The XP boosters make sense since a lot of people are probably worried they’d be playing catch-up with everyone who has been playing since launch (GW2 doesn’t really work like that, but you’d have to already be playing it to know that) but the armor and box seem like they just couldn’t think what else to include.

Some items found in the previous (original edition) of the game were removed, some items were changed, and some items were added. It’s a different (new) edition of the game. There may (or may not) be other editions in the future.

Obviously they don’t get the Heroes Band because that was a pre-purchase exclusive item, but everything else that was in my Digital Deluxe Edition (bought on the first day of pre-purchase) is still there.

You are correct. Only thing that isn’t in the Heroic DDE is the Hero’s Band. And that was a pre-purchase exclusive. It is nice that they upgraded the Golem, even those purchased way back when. =)

Yep, I was really happy about the upgrade to existing golems, because I have a lot of alts. A 2 week golem is definitely more useful to me than a five day one.

I am very tempted to buy this just for the fun of starting an account with no achievement points…that feeling of freshness that comes with starting from scratch. But, I really can’t afford it right now and have already done this once in the past.

It’s an incredibly good value.

It’s just a shame I used 2 of my golems already – one on purpose and one by accident.

I should have at least saved the one on my main for exploring Orr.

Yeah only some things where added to the new heroic edition and digital deluxe (heroic edition). Nothing was removed. The collectors edition is still for sale through some resellers. This edition isn’t remade and was sold out at arenanets store pretty early.
