At least you got downloading, I’m getting Connection Error!

I’d take slow, im just getting flat out connection errors and downloading nothing.

And so the rage begins…

As someone currently patching, I need to know; I’m at 50 MBs downloaded and I still haven’t hit 1%. Is that because it’s not showing up properly, or because this update IS FRIGGIN HUGE?

I really don’t understand why the auto-kick. Maybe the server collapsed? Why send at least 200.000 to the patch downloading at the same time when you can give a window frame of an hour saying “the server will go down in 60 mins for new patch”

Everyone needs to come back in 30 mins so I can download the files now and play…

LOL at this rate, it WILL be the 23rd for me by the time I get it downloaded! Oh well….

10 kb/s is crazy slow, this is going to take all night. Looks to be bed time.

download started and im getting 1.1mb/sec which is what i usually get from anet servers, although it does drop to 100kb/s every so often.

Prolly slow from all the folks trying to DL it at the same time.

I’m at 1xx.xx MB and only at 1%… so, it’s friggin huge.

How difficult is it really to run some load test? You know how many users are signed in across x # of servers. You know roughly how much bandwidth (y) you need to accommodate all your players. You know every one of them is going to be downloading the patch…. A 15 year old with an Microsoft Azure cloud services account could setup load balanced downloading and scale and meet demand for customers…. Pathetic. I imagine moderator will infrag me for this. Speaking the truth tends to get people in trouble.

There is crazy talent @ArenaNet no doubt, but there is no excuse for these kind of problems. Should not be that kitten hard

As you can probably see by now, and so as not to worry others, the % starts going up a lot faster after 1%.

Edit: 20% @ 266MB

I’m hovering between 500kb and 1.5mb.

i just bought the game, been downloading something like 4-5 hours. im at about 60%.
