So En Masse killed Tera…. guess I should have stayed on the KR server i was on =/

Looking at coming back…. free upgrade to collectors? Is there a way to buy it for like 10 bucks more?

We drove 2 hours to the nearest city to get this game awhile ago, didn’t hold my boyfriend’s or my attention. If i wasn’t recently laid off we’d probably buy it again but we can’t. >.< Nothing sucks more than getting laid off right before Christmas.

What’s fun to do in this game, didn’t get very far last time I played cause Tera wasn’t dead yet.

Any fun costumes? I LOVE dressing up all my toons.

I quit playing cause the game just bores me and it didn’t grab me like GW1 did, however, my wife still plays and she enjoys it and she does love that new outfit. So I sold all my gear and sent her the gold so she could make gems with it.

I’m playing SWTOR and she’s enjoying GW2. Works out that way

Mind if i ask why your still on the forums i mean i felt the same way about SWTOR you do about GW2 but i dont hang around there forums.

As for the op there always adding. And updating content to this game jan and feb are sapose to be huge

Exactly, I played GW1 for a long time and you never know, perhaps at some point Anet will make some changes that turn the game around.

And I still want Anet to make this a better game from my point of view.

Still think it would be more productive to actualy log on and play the new content for a few hours than it is to log into the sesspoll we call gameing forums (not just gw2) to see if there is anything that holds my intores

That is your opinion, but I have mine. You can think what you want but in the end I decide what I like to do or not and I am not impressed by people who try to tell me what to do, especially since you guys have managed yourselves to completely derail this thread from the original topic by asking me about this instead of focusing on the actual topic. Funny thing is, I don’t see that as productive.

So how about we agree to get back on topic?

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen forums about killer diseases that have kinder things to say than the majority of the forum going community has to say about this game.

I personally don’t get it, a four month old game with monthly updates and this much content is incredible and it can only get better. If you’re hoping it’s going to head back to the direction of GW1, you’re likely wasting your time. The Devs have stated multiple times the games are completely different, it’s not just a sequel, it’s a completely different entity.

If you were unhappy with the so called ‘vertical progression’ you may just get more upset as it has been stated that in future expansions upping the level cap is a possibility, though not guaranteed. The ascended gear will continue to be introduced into other aspects of the game, they’ve admitted they made a mistake in the way they handled it and it will become more world friendly.

But short from that it really would be better to experience the new content yourself, you can get an impression from the forums, but you’ll need to take it heavily with a pinch of salt and wade through a colossal amount of kitten before you find something actually relevant.

Gw2 is a lot of visual. All exotics are similar, but with different looks. There a lot of dyes for you to get. This part is remarkable.

Gw2 has a lot of side-stories imbued into the Dynamic events.

But why did you quit for the 1st time? Anything that bugged you or just Tera?

I have to disagree you read about changes if you think its something you might like to try you log in. There are many ways to get info on a game then just playing, for example my hubby watched youtube about deminsions in Rift and now he is excited to try one but he doesnt want to rush to the content he wants to level his toon first and then sink into it, thats his style of game play. Where as me well I like to be all over the place and dabble in this and that but thats what I like. Gehenna payed for a nonsubscription game and he is free to play it any way he feels like putting it away for 6 months to accumalate alot of content might be what he likes not your place to tell him how to play.

I do know what the value is of general forums.

The OP is deciding whether to come back or not and my initial response was simple. I don’t like it but my wife does.

To me that seemed pretty neutral but people always jump on what they want to hear/read.

Of course the OP would be better off playing rather than asking here whether it’s a good idea or not. I suppose that was also my point, that people feel differently about it, even within my own home….which is fine.

There are some elements in this game that weren’t working for me but that could change in the future.

I am not asking that they go back to how GW1 was, but I use it as a comparison because Anet also made that game and was able to manage depth in the combat system but it’s lacking here for example. Now I don’t care how they do it, doesn’t have to be the GW1 system at all, but it needs to be better than this….at least for me.

I really don’t need this game to die or start doom threads to validate my opinion. I do hope that some discussions here add to Anet rethinking some of their strategies. They made mistakes with GW1 as well but also managed to turn things around a few times as well.

If anything that’s what makes me think there maybe some positives for people like me in the coming year. I deleted all my characters for example. There are two reasons. First of all there’s nothing to get for gold sellers and if indeed the game has some changes that make me want to try again, I’d rather start over from new. A fresh start.

I do allow for the possibility that I might play again. Then I might find myself in the position the OP is in, but I won’t ask the general forum for advice. It’ll be my own decision.

It’s a game forum. The truth is not to be found here.

If you like costumes and such, OP, I’d get back into the game over the next few weeks – the Wintersday events come with a few unique costume pieces that might vanish after the season’s over (Jan 3rd). You might have to put down some real cash for them, though, as a few are only available in the game’s Gem Store. Some Wintersday-based weapons skins are found by playing the game and you’ll get three for free if you visit ToymakerTixx in Lion’s Arch. You can also get up to two minipets by playing the short Wintersday-based dungeon (which is short and straightforward enough that it’s pretty friendly to people playing in random groups), and you could have a go at crafting Everlasting Wintersday-themed tonics in the Mystic Forge in Lion’s Arch that let you turn into a specific Wintersday-themed toy for giggles.

If you’ve not already, take a look at the GW2 Wiki Wintersday page to have an idea of the new content. It’s largely for fun and most of the stuff you’ll earn is purely cosmetic.

what did Enmasse do to ruin Tera? I thought it was gamefrogfraud in europe that was killing it the most.

Since the u already bought the game it cost ya nothign to dive right back in and take a look for yourself. Some cool stuff is inplace now. Still alot of issues but the games new and hopefully Anet have their iron nice and hot to get rid of the pesky wrinkles.

Wow I didn’t expect this level of just hatred that I posted on the forums. __________

to answer your question when I posted it was the very first day I ever visited the forums and I wanted to see what the people said. I quit guild wars 2 before I really knew anything about it other than not liking it. I’ve never liked the pay to win games and at the time I thought it was one.

Well EnMasse killed Tera by merging all the server into three, making us change our names/guild names, ruining the world PvP by having to many safe zone which also ruined the GvG system they had as well, making the nexus event 3 times a day everyday (basically u still thee and lag for an hour to go to a 15 min raid which MIGHT drop a piece of loot u want), making all the PvE gear BoE so it’s pointless to do the content just farm and buy it, Making the SINGLE battleground everyone zerg to each point, making most instance in the game have bugs to where u can avoid the actual fights completely, not listening to the community, and killing the economy with the vanity items. Waited on that game to come out in English for 2 years, I played on the Korean server, I should have stayed there. The community on Tera is just awful.

Sad what it sounds like they did to that game.

The Tera community is the absolute worst Ive ever experienced, I’ll definately agree there.

Still no getting around the hard to avoid fact that their combat system, in my opnion, is #1. I guess that, along with fantastic graphics/performance, are the only things it had going for it.

God I have to agree there with the horrendous community there. It was full of nerdraging fanboi’s or total pleb haters. It was hard to have any kind of balanced discussion at all, everything turned into a flame war. The elitism was off the scale. The game itself was beautiful, combat system was immense. The problem was (as a euro player) gameforge were terrible. A sub based game with hardly any updates, anything they managed to get round to implimenting they plain old made a pigs ear off.

Sorry, I know this is irrelevant, but I can’t seem to understand your situation, and its been bugging me for the past couple of minutes like a tumor in my brain.

So, you played GW2 before (means you bought it and installed it, obviously), shifted to another game for a while, and now deeply considering on coming back.. with the only thing stopping you, as it sounds from your post, is the monetary cost?

Did you sell your account or something?

No I was just curious about the new deal with the collectors edition to be honest. My boyfriend and I have started logging in again and thinking the collectors thing is something we might enjoy. I was just curious if there’s like a 10 dollar upgrade or something at this point. I was also getting a feel for how the community is here, I won’t play a game with a bad community. Seems like it’s pretty decent but there’s a few angry people, that’s normal.
