Coming back, is it worth it?
Well look at it this way: you’ve already bought the game and there’s no subscription fee, so what have you got to loose?
Try it out and find out.
One thing to be aware of: Lion’s Arch is currently a war zone, under attack by Scarlet (the main villain of the Living Story), although last Tuesday the tide turned so now we’re on the offensive against her and her armies.
All the useful features of LA have been moved to the Vigil Keep, and that’s where you’ll end up if you use a portal that normally goes to LA, but it can be a bit of a surprise for people who come back to the game.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Come back make new friends…
If you loved it then, you will still love it now.
Well…to answer your “is it worth it” question we should know what’s the reason that made you stop playing for that long…and what you actually consider worth

My CPU couldn’t handle it
If you’re playing for your own enjoyment, it’s always worth coming back no matter how old the game is.
It’s worth it for me. Best MMO I’ve played. Not without it’s problems, but that’s true of all MMOs.
I never left, was it worth it?

Do you now have a computer that can handle GW2 ?
If not, then you will run into the same situation as before.
I stopped playing after a few weeks when it first came out, got back into it recently because I got nostalgic memories of GW1, and now I’m hooked. I suggest you try it out again at least. As for comp not handling it, if you turn all graphics down you can get some pretty neat results on lower end hardware. I got it running just fine with a low resolution and graphics so turned down they literally looked like GW2 : RuneScape Edition on my old laptop.
Is it worth it? … there is ZERO cost for anyone who has ever bought GW2 to give it another chance. Of course GW2 is worth trying… and I’d even recommend it to people who have never played it. GW2 is a great value even if you don’t end up liking it and staying with it. I’ve spent more on PS2 games that didn’t last the night.
GW2 is a great game even if you don’t like it.
Don’t waste your time unless you enjoy the best content a two week development cycle can yield. Namely, buggy, zergy, and really shallow content.
