Coming back to check out GW2
here you go.

YOu may want to read up on everything else in that “news” section
And this, as well: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/
Not sure what 1 monster after launch means, time-wise….but welcome return!
I don’t quite get what they mean by “living world”, because the world seems very much so the same for me atm. Is it like with WoW, where they have zone changing upon doing story missions? and the worlds gonna change alot for me as I finish Season 1 & 2? Is that when more of the world opens up to me as well then just what there was at release?
Because they just seem like more story missions the same as the personal story stuffs.
Also, yeah I ment month, lmao. Sry XD VERY tired atm. and thank you for the welcome back. <3
you missed the entire living world one. ie. temporary content that slightly changed the world……
nobody knows what to expect of living world 2
search other vids along the lines of “guild wars 2 living world”.
The world of Tyria dramatically changes from the ground up giving u the impression u actually matter…but after 2 weeks everything comes back to the way it was on release day. Very dynamic.
In Season 2 they said more permanent content will be added with each story..so expect to see additional rocks and trees pop up on the map as a result of your epic involvement in an continually changing world. Your decisions matter.
It’s nothing like wow…wow has a noob system that makes your epic decisions have a permanent impact on the world. WoW doesn’t have the regenerative capabilities of Tyria to heal itself every single time to the state it was on day 1 release. That’s how technologically advanced Tyria is.

LOL such thick sarcasm here. XD
It does sound like my waiting till season 2 was the right choice tho to play again. Thank you for the information!
I just came back like 2 weeks ago. I’m shocked by how little has changed.
I do love the new race in Festival of the Four Winds and the Super Adventure Box was fun too, but lets be honest, those are temporary fun content.
No, content added to the Gem store is NOT real content. I’m talking new PvP modes, new dungeons with new rewards etc.
Right now end game is farming gold for items in the gem store and doing some achievements every few weeks..

It seems that way from what im seeing initially too, but I also never finished my personal story because it just got boring to play alone and everyone I knew left the game within a month.
So maybe it’s beyond that and what I see now is only what I saw before because its too far back content wise?
I’m also assuming more of the world has opened up like they promised and I just dont know where to look yet.

yes the world changed based on what was happening.
In a nutshell First the molten alliance (dredge and flame legion) build underground labs to mess with new weaponary that caused gysers to form on the surface which in turn caused storms and such. we destroyed the labs so the activity of these gysers stopped or greatly reduced but the rock formations are still there. The motlen alliance also attacked villages and we had to retake 2 of these which opened up these areas to the players. The refugees south refuge in Holbrak, black citadel and Lion’s arch for a while until the consortium tricked them into signing a contract to help speed up the building of their holiday resorts in southsun so then new infrastructure opened up there as well as new dynamic events.
Then the skypirates invaded and we got 2 bases one in LA since then destroyed and no longer available and 1 in gendarran fields which is still there.
Then Queen Jenna restructured the great collapse in LA into a pavillion for her jubelee celebrations and thats available till this day. Scarlet also corrupted her watchnights turning them into clockwork chaos things and we had periodic invasions by the things in random zones.
After that something messed with tequalt and he become superboosted
then scarlet convinced the nightmare court to work with the krait and together they built the tower of nightmares in the middle of kessex hills. (there was some gradual change to this, first we noticed forests where cut down then a big huge barrier in the middle of the lake) anyhow we destroyed the tower but debris from the thing and some changes the whole thing caused to the zone remain there till today.
Then Scarlet messed with some detects that awoke a pretty nasty wurm that became a new wold boss.
finally there was the actual assault on la where scarlet destroy the city completely.
Well thats more or less how the world changed in a nutshell based on what happened in the Living world stories.
ohh yeah and I forgot 2 things actually.. thats what happens when you try to recount a story without references… so 1. before scarlet actually brokered the deal with the nightmare court she allied herself with them and setup a base in TA permanetly changing one of TA’s explorer paths.
2. When the sky pirates attacked LA they killed a councellor and after a player election Ellen Keil was elected to replace him. One of her election promise was to research past events and thanks to that we got 3 new fractals based on events that happened during the living story and a bit before.

Endgame is crafting ascended gear and legendaries. And WvW and PvP are there for people who don’t arbitrarily limit their gaming experience due to feelings of inadequacy for which they are in denial.
Endgame is filling up your Wardrobe (PvE), getting your Ultimate titles and exclusive rewards (seasonal WvW tournament), or your favorite Champion titles and the dragon finisher (PvP). Oh, and don’t forget the Trading Post Wars to prove who’s the mastermind behind the turbulent economy of Tyria (and garners the most golds.)
Aside from that, there are plenty of competitions out there to make the game more appealing to hardcore: Dungeon speedclear records, WvW guild raids, PvP Tournament of Legend or this biweekly Forum-exclusive Fashion Contest.
