So as of yesterday you cannot pop a commander tag and have an active LFG listing. Meaning that you cannot taxi anyone onto your map.

This sucks so bad for open world events – I don’t even know. Was that intended or we are supposed to use ghetto mentor tags now?

I’m not sure what Anet inteded, but allowing squads to LFG would fix that (tbh I expected this to be possible with the new Squad UI). For that, the commander should also be able to set a member limit.

This would also allow it to LFG taxi a full squad of 50 people to a map, which would reduce LFG spam quite a bit, as a commander himself could serve most taxi needs.

And it would also make proper Raid LFG possible.

This commander tag + party system is so broken.

Sometimes if myself and a few friends are in a party…. and event pops up….. and I want to throw up my tag to attract more players on the map it becomes a serious hassle.

I tag up and my party must all accept the squad invite.

Then, after the event is over… I tag down…. and I’m not in a party….. and can’t party up with my friends again.

It is even worse being the commander for a raid and trying to add your 10th player to your squad….

You add them to your party…. and you are removed from the squad.

You abandon the party and get back into the squad, and you cant add the person to the squad.

The entire system needs to be scrapped…. and we need to have a raid lobby where the party size is upped to ten.

There is no excuse for this, Anet.

You knew how it worked in Guild Wars 1, and instead of doing the logical thing that needed to be done, you cut corners and this is what we have…

A hot mess.

Game mechanics-wise, a tagged-up commander should be able to do anything that a p;layer can do, except join another squad. Why does Anet have to make everything so complicated and dysfunctional?
And LFG needs a re-work. I don’t even know where to begin with that. More, narrower, categories would be a start.
